What is everyone looking for against Creighton?

I am most interested in who separates themselves at the five position. We have a lot of depth there but so far it’s unsure who will stand out. Does Berg take advantage of his first chance at meaningful minutes? Does Jacobson jump Berg on the depth chart? Does small ball with TKR work against a good big? Does Burgess put an end to the RS talk? Lots of questions.

I am also interested in seeing how the frosh mesh with Smith, Loyer, and TKR. Can Harris take the starting spot? Can Cox shoot his way into big minutes?

Finally I am sure everyone is excited to see the sophomore jump from Heide and Colvin. Do they make a jump and solidify their spots in the rotation?

Overall I am just excited that the season is finally here. This team will probably take some lumps early on but I expect the team to gel come January and February and to be a tough out in big ten play.
We might still be figuring out certain things with this team, but with this complete joke of a football team; it will be nice to be competitive and relevant in a sport.

I am excited for all things listed.

I take these games with a grain of salt because Painter has said that he won't be running it like a normal game. He is going to do some strange lineups and use it as an experiment. Remember the Arkansas game and how our seasons went after.

I won't be surprised if we run a lineup without Smith and have Harris/Cox running the 1&2 with either Loyer/Cam/Colvin at the 3.

Should be fun - hoping some of the bootleg streaming sites carry it.....

Not a good start for Edey

I think Kessler was embarrassed by Edey when they played in Summer League (https://www.espn.com/nba-summer-league/boxscore/_/gameId/401679135/league/nba-summer-utah) and studied hard to make amends.
Zach will figure it out. He still needs to be a little less aggressive defensively in the first quarter until knowing how the game will be called.

Anyone think NK troops

Ugh. Ground forces are still needed when tactical nukes are used. Most are much, much smaller than than warheads placed on intercontinental missiles. You don't seem to understand what they are or their purpose. Read my words and comprehend.

You want Europeans to fight a war in Europe and for us to stay home. Not gonna happen nor should it. Russia can compete with Europe. Not with us. A war in Europe is the world's problem. If we had stayed out in WW2 you might be speaking German. Isolationists like you tried to make that happen.

Europe ISN'T PAYING ANYTHING DONALD. Like trump, you still don't understand how NATO works lol.

Yeah, like Obama, you work with your allies and treat them with some respect to get them to SPEND the agreed amounts on defense. Lol. It's not like we're making up the difference because the money doesn't go to NATO.

Repeat they're laughing at Biden as much as you want. Doesn't make it true except in your fantasies.

The Taliban lol. Sure was nice of trump to withdraw all that equipment when he was withdrawing 11,000 troops. Most of the equipment left belonged to the Afghan government........who left town when trump excluded them from the negotiations. How many troops were you willing to lose while they traveled around the country, controlled by the Taliban, retrieving humvees?
Bagram, Bagram, Bagram.

Your words: They can't take on NATO in a conventional ground war. But this ain't 1942. Likely be tactical nukes.

Not assuming anything other than UK and France's tactical nukes are as good as ours, so ours are not needed.

Russia obviously doesn't care about "serious diplo, econ, and political peril." That's what Biden said and they laugh at him.

Any other suggestions on how to get deadbeat countries to pay what they agreed to pay? They laugh at Biden.

The difference is the money now goes for arms for Ukraine (and to replace what we left for the Taliban thanks to the incompetence of Biden). Under Trump the arms will be for the US.

Dan Mullen

Anyone have thoughts on Dan Mullen?

Pros:
Has won at an “underdog” school in the SEC
Still only 52 years old
Florida has gotten worse since firing him
Currently working in TV so can start immediately (can you be here Monday morning?)

Cons:
Got fired from last job
Good but not a great recruiter (but will that matter as much moving forward?)
Won’t have a staff to bring with him since he’s working in TV, will have to assemble one

No, I don't seem to agree. Tactical nukes are not certain to be used but even if they are, you still have to secure territory and hold it with armor and infantry.

"Thus, you seem to agree that fighting them in Ukraine does the US no good and will not matter to the security of NATO countries because any further Russia invasions will involve tactical nukes."

You seem to be assuming that if Russia uses tactical nukes it's all over. NATO won't respond? Nukes haven't been used in Ukraine but we just assume Russia would use them when they go into Poland? The first one to use nukes puts themselves in serious diplomatic, economic, and political peril.

I'm stating the views expressed by trump. He has talked about how NATO is obsolete. He has said he wouldn't help our allies attacked by Russia if they weren't spending their 2%..........directly undermining Article 5 that has been in place for 75 years.

Trump is going to spend as much if not more than any democrat on the military, funneling taxpayer money to big arms suppliers. You need to let that one go or admit trump will do the same or more.

Gicarri Harris

If I recall correctly, (and I may not), he struggled with the defense of Northwestern and Rutgers.
But I'm also trying to think of what games over the last 2 years, we needed a bucket in the final 10 seconds to tie or win? I don't recall many.
And yes, everyone struggled with UConn, although didn't Bama put a good scare into them in the tourney?

I've grown to like Smith. Wasn't a fan of his recruitment but he proved me wrong. It will be really interesting to see him play without Edey.
Wanted to dig into this - not to get into an argument - just out of genuine curiosity.

He didn't actually have a great tourney but then again, he had Edey and others to lean on. I think statistically, NCState was his worst game.

I do agree - he will be a different guard this year because the offense will flow through various people and sometimes, he will be the guy to get a bucket.

At IU - 14% shooting
At Michigan - 21%
Wisconsin - 25%
Iowa - 25%
Tenn (in Maui) - 22%

I just pulled shooting percentage - not looking at any other metrics.

Rutgers - 50% and 70%
Northwestern - 41% & 42% - OT loss he had 6 TOs which was the most all season
