Smitty had four more steals today.....lately he's getting them primarily with the back-side double near the block/baseline and reading the skip/cross-court and intercepting.

Boilers were also really good on the glass today - offensive boards really helped keep them in touch in the first half with the frigid shooting.

And heides roles are to score a bit but mostly rebound and play defense. Myles was great today on shelstead and rebounded well. Heide was good on offense…they both played their roles very well.

If we get a combined 8-12 points, 6-10 rebounds and 1-3 steals from these 2 a night, then that puts us in a great position to win. And if they do more, well I really like our chances.

Myles was a 🔒 ⬇️ defender on shelstead today. He played his role beautifully. Just like Harris and cox. You worried about cox? Prob not. His role is to help Braden handle it a bit and guard their best guard. And if he heats up then it’s a plus and we are absolutely tough to beat.

Furst did a great job when switched on shelstead today. And even burgess has a good defensive play when switched on shelstead and after shelstead shot a terrible shot (one of many) Myles almost got the rebound from their 7 footer, bittle

In a perfect world perhaps that can work. But in reality that hasn’t happen as there have been many blacks and other groups that have been passed over for jobs. Now that DEI is being demolished that practice will continue. Y’all need to stop assuming that blacks aren’t qualified. Is Marcus Freeman qualified now? When Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois he wasn’t?

If racist white folks would have never been racist in the first place and hire based on merit, there would be no need for affirmative action or now DEI.

So he said that he wanted a black female for justice. The black wonen on the list were not former Walmart cashiers. Justice Brown’s credentials were as good or better than the other 8 justices. Better than Justice Thomas for sure. Just because you may not like someone didn’t mean that they are not qualified. I don’t like Sen. Tim Scott or Ted Cruz but they are more than qualified to be senator. But it’s getting tiresome to label everything DEI now.

Thanks for the recap - I was unable to watch or follow today. Was hoping for a closer score than this. Geez, I feel badly for the players who are trying & giving effort (Layden, Jones, etc). Sounds like they are not being put in situations to succeed.
Skills development should be better this deep into the season. Something is just very out of whack. Baffling, disappointing, and the players have got to be discouraged. This is tough on everyone

13th but he’s also just turning 20 this in august.. He was super young coming in and yes did not play the best comp. Should get only better, need more consistent offense to complement his defense. Won’t be featured due to the big 3 being back next year, but still should be a better role player on offense, that’s the next step.

The coverage when Braden leaves his man is typically pretty quick. I know it is all about whether Braden gambles , but the rotation to get in position to cover typically is pretty quick. I don’t know if Braden says anything or they are also tuned into where he his as he may go from one side of the court to the other

I thought Myles played great defense today and had some important rebounds.

That win had champion DNA in it. Program win that took guts. Hit FTs, out rebound them, force TOs.

Now it's time to take care of business at home the next 3 games.
