Burgess

Maaan. Cmon. Your “statement” is not 90% true for all athletes.

Jones left for a better team after 4 years and more opportunity and probably $$, just like Domask. Catchings left because he wanted guaranteed time that we continue to tell you is not guaranteed ever by painter.

I know you think all coaches are the same, you still think painter just uses “coach speak”…why you say that, I’m not sure as he’s never shown that. With that said, he recruits a certain type of player and probably talked to certain ones about redshirting. Burgess broke his foot JR year and may need a little more to develop. Or it may have been a plan all along. You need to stop generalizing every play as the same.

What player from Purdue has left after one year? Painter is fair with every one of them and they know what it takes to play more.

Haarms left cuz edey was coming in and he thought he could get more exposure out west (he was wrong). Nojel left for whatever those reasons were and that turned out to be horrible for his career…and same for Haarms.
Excellent rebuttal!!!

The violence has already started.

OH MY GOD! Look at all the carnage. No rallies or political involvement? Look at all that violence.

Two articles about individuals stealing money. Last article notes how BLM is almost broke. But that doesn't stop from you from still using them 4 years later as some kind of boogeyman when it suits you.
HA HA!! If there were ever a pot calling the kettle black, this is it....
Bob, my lefty lib friend.....who on this board, more than any other single poster, refers to Jan 6 in 95% of their posts?
So, your whole "4 years later" thing doesn't carry much credibility.

Harris pulls ads in NC

I see a lot of strutting from the R side on this. I don't see it as a big deal. After all Trump won NC before, and lost.

K2 is poling well in the Blue wall and has a decent shot at winning this thing if her minions can find votes needed, by any means necessary....as they always do, in Marquette, Madison, Philly, Atlanta and Detroit/Flint.

Why does the betting market think this election will be any different than when Biden beat Trump last time??

Where is the blue wall you're referring to? Just the urban areas of the swing states?
I'd be extremely surprised if Trump won WI. We (for the benefit of all Americans) need him to win GA, AZ and PA.

VIDEO: Lusk, Harris, Jacobsen and Cox media availability

The freshmen are impressive in every way.

I'm trying to remember Painter's rule for freshmen and the media. They can speak to the media after the first game? Or was it previously more restrictive?
All 3 are great at speaking to the press, way better than I would ever be.

CJ reminds me a bit of TKR when speaking.

DJ handled all of the weight and food questions well 😂 …I’m sure he’s already tired of them.

Brohm…

Lots of revisionist history here. He took 3 recruits from the class. That’s it. When he left he took 0 current players. Allen and Miller didn’t transfer until after the spring. Can’t think of anybody else he poached. So 5 guys total…when IUs coach brought almost triple that from JMU.

Don’t understand why people hate Brohm. He turned down Louisville once. UT too to stay.

He left. I get it. It sucks but yall act like battered ex wives when his name gets mentioned!
He did try to take players, but they decided to stay. There were lots of rumors when he left that he had kind of lost the locker room and the Brohm Co act was wearing thin. I think the fact that the players didn't really follow tells a lot and we were likely on a downward trajectory with Brohm if he had stayed. Of course, maybe if he didn't have one foot out the door that season, as had been long speculated, it doesn't degrade to that point.

Carsen Edwards update

of course not. it doesn't fit your narrative. Reality is he makes teams better with his defense. Which is why he's making 20 million dollars for playing basketball THIS year.
Try a clue.
My narrative? You're the one that brought up salaries as proof. Reality is he's a cancer and no team he's been on has won. Can Carsen replace him? No but that wasn't my point. They're different players. Smart may be a good defender but he's not a winner. Boston won after they let him go. Oklahoma State won nothing with him. There's my clue.

Is that what happened? I remember brohm declining the Louisville job the first time it was offered. Even if we knew that was the case don’t we know that is the case for any coach? Don’t you think of Walters was a great coach he’d go to Colorado the first chance he could if they matched pay? And fleck had made it clear he’s bolting at the first big offer. And iu hired a 63 year old coach to avoid this. It’s a reality we are a stepping stone for just about everyone.
An older, joe tiller type coach that will stick around and consistently get you 7-9 wins during their prime is basically our dream coach scenario.

I think most saw this coming, UL fans think they should be some sort of Blue Blood even though their history is actually a really plucky mid major. Brohm always has been good for a winning a few games he shouldn't while also losing a few games he shouldn't. Always has periods in his play calling where he forgets he's allowed to just run the ball and eat clock and never seems to put much focus on the defensive side of the ball.

If you goal is to have winning seasons and the occasional surprise really good season, he's a good coach. If your aspirations are annual national title contention, he's probably not your guy, and that is what UL fans are expecting. This return home was doomed from the beginning.
Pretty fair assessment. And Sadly that makes him a pretty good coach as far as Purdue is concerned.

You think there is anyone in the country that would take the Purdue job that could say with a straight face Purdue is their destination school?
I'll dumb it down for you. I agree, I doubt there are many coaches who would take the Purdue job that could say with a straight face that Purdue is their destination school. But you do not hire a coach who tells you that he's going to sh!t all over Purdue and run off to Louisville when he thinks "the time is right."

OT: Big Ten Football Title

And thank goodness. Divisions were 1000x worse.
They weren’t. You just feel that way because you are an IU fan and you sucked for the past 70 years.

Divisions are the only fair way to handle stuff like this IMO. To be judged on a record vs your peers when you play a significantly lighter schedule than your peers is incredibly unfair. Sure, IU is much better this year but are also aided by seemingly the worst conference schedule I’ve seen.

If the league “drafted” divisions every other year based on finish and played a home/away schedule over the 2 year set with one crossover game in the 9th week that served as a play in for the BIGCG, it would be the most fair.

Sure, you’d potentially lose some yearly rivalry games but who cares. We are all out there blatantly chasing the $ now!
