Purdue vs. Auburn: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Starting to develop some frustration with the team and especially Painter. We are not playing a lot of games and have plenty of practice time. We absolutely cannot rely totally on Smith, TKR and Loyer. I kept track and in the first half Colvin and Heide did not touch the ball in our half court until almost 5 minutes in. Painter has to fix this. We are playing 3 on 5 on offense.

Too many kids think it’s greener on the other side and end up playing their last down of P4, G5 or even college football as a whole

I like Jacobsen. But he wasn't Edey and obviously it's unfair to expect that of him.

We'd have fewer issues obviously so better with him than without but I wonder if we'd still struggle against this athletic teams.

If you cant dribble a basketball under pressure, and you cant dribble by someone 1 on 1 and get to the basket, you are a liability on the court unless youbare the center.

We have 1 guy that can do that but he actually cant get to the rim with it vs elite teams.

That is what it boils down too. Not lack of athletes or size. Those would be nice too, but its the lack of 3 level players

This team is built around a dominant big man in both ends. Without that, we need more size and athleticism.

Colvin and Heide are great teammates, And like you say show occasional promise. They are tremendous Boilers, but perhaps need to be bench players on a great team instead of starters on a good team.
