Why why can’t we shoot? 15/47.
I don't believe we have room for 3 unless someone leaves but I also don't believe Painter will bring in that many. It's going to take a ton of convincing to get him to bring in 1.Need 2 or 3
"My Club" Good one!I love reading your boards.. I can at least have conversations with intelligent Purdue graduates and fans at my club versus the useless but entertaining complaining on here.
Need 2 or 3I'm not going to call anyone soft. Being soft isn't the problem, lack of athleticism at key spots is. Neither Heide or Colvin are particularly quick or creative on drives. They certainly are great leapers and they can shoot the open shot but they aren't intuitive drivers and that limits them both.
When we have a dominant attention grabbing big it doesn't matter as much because it opens things up for everyone. But we don't so we try to scheme them open which works against lesser defensive teams but not against the better defenses.
The frosh will be nice pieces but none of them are remotely ready. Jacobsen helps some, but we will need more if this team wants to get back to the elite 8 or better.
Painter will need to bite the bullet and be willing to bring in a portal player or two.
Sorry you too and whomever else haha.and me
I agree. We all are who we are. Athleticism is lacking, doesn't make you soft. I recant. All great kids on this team.I'm not going to call anyone soft. what convos have you engaged in here? And if you want actual entertainment, go to the IU b-ball board and read the last….3 years of posts.I love reading your boards.. Maybe also drinking heavilyNo expectations
We are undersized, half court and not nearly as athletic.... on the other hand we have heart and you never know. By tournament time we could have found ourselves like we often post.

and meI refrained from agreeing with this. But @bonefish1 is right and so are you. We need those two to do more and the offensive sets we have aren’t working…if they somehow start working in the B1G, I’ll reverse course. But man, we have to do something different than running these long offensive sets that depend on getting the ball back to the PG and then shoot something at the 3-7 second mark of the shot clock.
Colvin and Heide (I don’t think through their own fault) just stand out watching the big 3 and don’t even look to attack. When colvin somewhat did in the first half, he got a fouled called (granted he miss the FT). But I think the offense is not set up for Colvin and Heide to attack or look for their own shot.
Hopefully we can somehow change this offensive strategy this year, but if not, it def needs to change next year.
And also, @bonefish1 and @qazplm,I tried to fight it, but I’m now with you both. We need to hit the portal for at least 2-3 scorers. I apologize for arguing about it 😂 you both were right.
We also need to be able to make shots and not shoot 25%Offense needs so much more ball movement
Way too easy to defend
I think that’s how the offensive sets are set up and that’s what they’re told to doColvin stands in the corner Heide just stands around too
Maybe some of these soft players are too happy to be here knowing they get 4 or 5 yearsCatchings would have helped this team but he was a basket case that I just don't think would have been happy here and his play would have showed it. I don't think he wanted to be here.
My only question is....is it Painter restraining them or is it the players...or both???I refrained from agreeing with this. But @bonefish1 is right and so are you. When was the last time…Purdue lost by 30+ points? Talking basketball, not football.
Catchings would have helped this team but he was a basket case that I just don't think would have been happy here and his play would have showed it. I don't think he wanted to be here.I can't remember the dude but some guard was on this podcast that wanted to go to Syracuse but Boeheim gave him a speech that he wouldn't start. Went elsewhere and played in the NBA. Even Keady knew Big Dog had to have different rules than Linc Darner.
Colvin stands in the corner Heide just stands around tooStarting to develop some frustration with the team and especially Painter. We are not playing a lot of games and have plenty of practice time. We absolutely cannot rely totally on Smith, TKR and Loyer. I kept track and in the first half Colvin and Heide did not touch the ball in our half court until almost 5 minutes in. Painter has to fix this. We are playing 3 on 5 on offense.

'Selective' does not apply to football players and legacies.Northwestern is an extremely selective school accepting only 7% of applicants and is well perceived by academia.
Oh, I'm old enough to remember. If we're focusing on college, ND went 16-21 during Clausen's three seasons. Purdue went 25-25 during Painter's four. Neither player started every game, but both started most. Results matter. I also know one of those guys had better talent around him than the other.Pro results don’t matter in college. If they do, we basically have to return our 2000 B1G Championships.
Also, maybe you’re not old enough to remember that this entire board would complain that you knew how Painter was going to do before the game started. Bottom line is that Clausen, while not a Heisman winner, was an All-American in college and thought highly enough of that he was picked in the Top 50. Anything after that doesn’t matter regarding college…
