Eva Hudson named AVCA Mdiwest Player of the Year

I would really like to hear what the issue really is, it cannot all be money.
I can see playing time being a factor for Carr and the BF a factor for Myers. Warren has previously switched, so I'm not sure she knows what she wants. If Hudson and Chicoine's focus is a national championship, I think they will be disappointed. The both of them played 100% of the time at Purdue and I'm not sure that will occur at their new destination, maybe Chicoine due to her overall skills. Was Hudson upset that she wasn't unanimous 1st team B1G or Chicoine because she was second team BIG , and they think there get greater recognition at another school? Coaching or team chemistry issues? Curious minds would like to know.

DEI is a political tool used by the Dems to continue to drive wedges for their advantage at the polls.
DEI became a political tool used by the right to create a wedge for their advantage at the polls. Kamala never talked about DEI. But Trump, Elon, and the boys sure did.

DEI offices, when done correctly, actually serve to protect workers and students against potential bias.

New 5, 6th man

TKR and Smith have been the most consistent throughout the season. Everyone else has been consistently inconsistent. It is hard to have a stable starting 5 when you don't know what you are going to get out of your players night in and night out.
Fletch has scored in double figures in every game but one (and that game was a 35 point blowout when he only played 23 minutes.

When we were in danger of getting our doors blown off early on Saturday, it was Fletch that kept us within striking distance. The score was tied at 15 when Loyer exited about 8 minutes in and Fletch had 7 of our 15 points. You saw what happened from then on.

If they don't care about skin color, then why for decades more qualified blacks aren't hired over non-qualified whites? Or, why these same people, hire more white women through affirmative action than any other group?

Historically true.

Great thing though, it's long in the past. Irrelevant to today's job market and hirings. Hopefully you recognize that??

And why DEI is being done away with. Just not needed & waste of money

IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

This. Huge drop off after the top 8.

I think people greatly undervalue home field advantage. All of the home teams won. Say the game is at Clemson... Could have gone way different. Clemson had a shot. Game is in Bloomington? Could be different. Game is in Texas instead of Pennsylvania? Could be different. Game is in Knoxville? Definitely a lot different. And as far as the Top 8 go, Tennessee and Indiana were #7 and #8 in the Playoff Rankings. They happened to be moved down to the 9 and 10 seed(ranking and seeds are different things) because of Boise State and Arizona State getting byes.

Illinois and UCLA look to be the early favorites for BT

Illinois has the easiest road schedule, they play the 4 lowest ranked teams on the road (Washington, Minnesota, Rutgers and Nebraska).
UCLA plays 3 (Washington, Rutgers and Nebraska), has already won at Oregon! Has the best defense in the BT.
My top 5:
1. UCLA
2. Oregon
3. Maryland
4. Illinois
5. Purdue (Can they win on the road?) (Washington, Minnesota and Rutgers are must wins)

Watched UCLA a few times. UCLA are warriors - seem to always have a different guy leading them. But when things bog down, the Mack Truck takes over. Would love him on our team.

CMP needs to find a guy like him in the off season & get him paid to come. Harris & Cox might be that guy in 2-3 years, but certainly not going to be close to him & our needs next year.

UCLA are well coached and have stifling D like you say. Alot of tools on that team to get jobs done

Let me ask you since you are a true IU fan. Did you really believe he was a preseason B1G player of the year type of player? Without ZE.

We need more aggressive guard play at this moment. If you don't feel there are guards/coaches that understand to take our guards out of the equation....you're being foolish.

Nope.

But as an IU fan I can absolutely state that IMO Braden Smith is the single fiercest competitor in the B1G.

That's worth a ton, but it doesn't allow a 5'11 guard to consistently score over size when he's trying to create his own shot late in the shot clock. And that's what his role has turned into too often this year.

So, what happens now in Bloomington

Most of the key guys on Indiana's defense (incl all three 1st team All-B1G), both starting wide receivers, the majority of the offensive line, and nine of the ten top assistant coaches including both coordinators are returning. A ton will depend on whether Mendoza and Hemby pop for IU this week; both would be a talent upgrade.

At Oregon, at PSU, and at Iowa are very tough games, but there's no reason to believe they'll lose the three early season cupcake games or to the mid/lower level B1G teams, especially at home and especially when looking at what they did to those teams the past year. Based on expectations they'll likely be favored by at least a touchdown in 9 of 12 games and will be about a touchdown (or a little more) underdog in the other three.

This is called circular logic. It's an endless loop of talking yourself back to where you started from.

Hiring is subjective, because “qualified “ is subjective. Maybe people didn’t interview well.

comment was nothing about whether a coach could or should adapt. The comment is what it has done to greater team play versus greater individual play...how it may affect motion and enhance quick hitters or sets. It laid out the why Matt's more team players find more success at Purdue than in other offenses should they went elsewhere as well as the pros and cons. I believe it was a larger influence in eliminating some areas of the game and enhancing other areas than the 3 pt shot. It states how Matt has tried to adapt from years ago and how that is more scoutable than motion. It is a philosophical difference "relative" to how many other coaches try to work within the shorter clock. There would have been a hell of an advantage for Purdue had the clock been 45 seconds the last few years as opposed to 30 and even 35 would have been a boost.
Your argument is more what style of play do you prefer to watch. One could argue that the "shorter" clock makes a team get into their offense quicker and puts an emphasis on precision and discipline and getting the shot you want quicker. The longer the clock, the more a team can "waste" time getting set and trying to get the shot they want.

I couldn't disagree more with your premise that the 30 second clock has changed the game more than the 3 point shot. The evolution of the 3 point basket has had a tremendous change in the game. Going from 45 to 35 to 30 seconds pales in comparison to the 3 point shot in changing the game. There are now whole philosophical changes to how coaches teach offense based on the 3 point shot. Analytics have shown that 3 pointers and layups are what you want. The 3 point shot has virtually eliminated the mid-range game in college and the pros. CMP has talked many times about how he wants to force the other team to take tough 2's. No 3's or layups.

Now we can certainly argue whether the evolution of the 3 point basket has made the game "better" or "worse". That would be a good discussion to have. But IMO, there has been no single thing that has had a greater impact on the college game than the 3 point shot and how it is used. But reasonable minds can disagree.

You STILL don’t get it….
People don’t care (especially Republicans and conservatives) what color a persons skin is when they’re appointed or hired. They care if the reason for the appointment or hire is BECAUSE of the color of their skin.

When dipshit Biden said he would only consider a black woman for VP, he set himself up for the DEI mess he created.
If they don't care about skin color, then why for decades more qualified blacks aren't hired over non-qualified whites? Or, why these same people, hire more white women through affirmative action than any other group?

• Bowman, the sore-losing racist: Is there anything more spiteful and embittered than a Democrat incumbent who's just been shown the door? If we consider the behavior of disgraced outgoing New York congressman and fire-alarm-pulling Squad member Jamaal Bowman, we'd say not.

"Dear White People," Bowman posted as part of a remarkable 12-part X rant, "I don't know why I feel the need to keep talking to you. I don't know why part of me still has hope for you and for us. Some of you are too far gone. But maybe enough of you aren't and will join us in fighting to end white supremacy." Bowman went on to list what he deemed were black victims of white people: Rodney King, Eric Garner, Philando Castile, Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Jordan Neely. "How many times have you seen a white man killed in cold blood on camera on your newsfeed?" he asked whites. "The answer is never." Instead, "Whenever you feel discomfort from your whiteness, Black people are harmed or killed. And there is never accountability or justice. This is the evil of white supremacy."
