Indiana at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

FWIW, Butler is where his great uncle played in the mid 60s. He was a good player that I watched as a youngster. Notice the number on Gene...Matt and Brian both had/have it. My brother-in-law fixed Gene up with his wife!

who was the son of the Rossville coach that played at Wisconsin?

Purdue played poorly, give IU credit

rivalry games are hard to predict. i remember losing by 41 down south then beating them in a close game at mackey. i believe painter was on that squad
I'm wondering if you are remembering the Woody Austin/Craig Riley show where Craig was setting screens waaaaayyyyy out and Woody was draining them.

"1992: Beating Indiana is always fun for Purdue.

But to cost the Hoosiers (who would finish 23-6 overall and 15-3 Big Ten) a Big Ten title and No 1 NCAA seed in the process is even more memorable for Boilermaker fans. That’s exactly what Purdue did in this epic 61-59 win vs. the No. 4 Hoosiers on Senior Day in Mackey Arena vs. an IU team that had beaten Purdue by 41 earlier in the season in Bloomington.

This was a pedestrian Purdue squad that would go 16-14 overall and 8-10 in the Big Ten and head off to the NIT. But seniors Woody Austin (a Richmond, Ind., native) and Craig Riley (a Ft. Wayne, Ind., native) went out in style vs. their in-state rival, watching students storm the court after Purdue upset an Indiana team that would go on to the Final Four. Austin paced the Boilers with 20 points, while the muscular Riley added 17 with seven boards. And a redshirt freshman named Cuonzo Martin tallied 12 points and seven rebounds while shadowing Hoosier All-American Calbert Cheaney."

Nebraska at Purdue

Hope so. But I really don't know. Those things seem to be on a case by case basis.
I was wrong, but a medical redshirt, as long as you have played in less than 1/3 of the teams games and have a season ending injury, you can get a medical redshirt. Since we will play at least 29 games, she could have played in 9 and still medical redshirt.

Nebraska at Purdue

She’s fine as a 9th/10th player, with a 15 player scholarship limit she’s doing no harm here. While I agree that she shouldn’t be playing major minutes I don’t see the reason to trash her nightly, Purdue women’s hoops has problems much bigger than her.
I agree she would be fine as the 7th player, but she is starting and playing about 30 minutes and adding practically nothing in that time. Against Nebraska she was 1-4 in 31 minutes, a couple of assists and rebounds and matador defense on the other end.

I did give Collier her props the one decent game she has had in Big Ten play, same as the one game Bass did not suck.

DEI caused the Philadelphia MEDVAC plane crash

I knew that is were you were going. It is still way too early to even speculate. Then at the same because of the DEI bs from the right in recent months, bringing it up on a tragedy like this in the first place is putting politics on the fray instead of focusing on the victims in the crash. The entire press conference was dominated by DEI or speculation of DEI being the cause with no evidence. Then in lock step that proves the political angle in all of this, Hegseth, Vance, and Duffy reintegrated the DEI nonsense. Hegseth even said that is was going to get rid of it in the armed forces.

Secondly, putting DEI for now. Chump, without evidence went on to speculate about helicopter pilot error saying that with 20/20 vision they should have seen the plane. Or possibly wearing night vision glasses was a contributing factor. Again way before any investigation was started. No matter how you look at it the pres conference was just awful.

Then when asked if Chump was going to the crash site. He said, “You want me to go swimming?”. Just awful. It’s going to be a long 4 years.
There is no speculation. The tower was understaffed because of DEI. That is 100% fact. They turned away qualified candidates because they weren't diverse enough. The crash happened because they were overworked and understaffed. IF they had the proper staffing, the tower would have alerted the helicopter pilot much earlier of the impending crash.

I am a pilot and I've flown into some extremely busy airports. DC is one of the most busy. Not a place to have too little staff.

POS President Chump blames DEI for plane crash

While I am NOT directly blaming DEI on this crash....... indirectly it is at partial fault.....as the tower was short staffed that night, like towers all over the nation.

For sure, only persons not well read, lacking common sense do not know that DEI have made the skies less safe, nation wide.

Pres O rejected 1000 air traffic controllers under his admin because they didn't fit racial quotas he put in. And towers consequentially are short staffed and doing too much OT ever since. DANGEROUS

Here are articles showing how Pres O moved away from MERIT based hiring....detailing the problems in the industry ever since....

Bingo, but BNI will just say that this is wrong and he hates that evil Trump.

POS President Chump blames DEI for plane crash

Just hours after the crash, investigation barely getting on the way and this fool blames the crash on DEI, Obama, Biden, and Buttigieg. Unbelievable. Maybe it was the air traffic controllers’ fault. Maybe not. This guy just does not know when to shut up. Then the 2 stooges, Hegseth and Duffy mimic what he said.

This is going to be a long 4 years.
Actually DEI did play a small part. Once DEI was brought in, many people in the DC tower quit and walked away. The DC tower has been understaffed for almost 2 years now. Typically they have a person working each type of aircraft, but in this case, one guy was working both the helicopters and the planes. He was overworked because they couldn't find anyone to fill the spots that were vacated.
