TRUMP IS GONE!!!

Jimmy Kimmel of 'Man Show' fame is your muse, PD? The show that viewed women as bimbos and sex objects?

Joe was probably a big fan of that show, considering his history of groping and inapropriate touching.

Bro 1,500 posts on your new account since September. Do you have any type of life besides on a Purdue messageboard?

Monkeypox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus that can occur in certain animals including humans. Symptoms begin with fever, headache, muscle pains, swollen lymph nodes, and feeling tired. This is followed by a rash that forms blisters and crusts over.

If Dr. Jill's 'dissertation' is an example of what it takes to get a doctorate in education, then no, in my view education is not a valid field of study beyond the undergrad level.

The sorry state of our nation's education system relative to those of other advanced nations lends support to that view, don't you agree?
Anyone's dissertation can be criticized and there are, admittedly, some writing errors and such in hers. But, I'd give the benefit of the doubt to the faculty on her committee to determine whether her document meets the criteria for earning her degree rather than what I read in an article written by someone who specifically set out to tear it apart (and who has no credentials that I can find to suggest he has any expertise to offer) simply because she had the audacity to use the title befitting her credentials. The dissertation is also only a part of the process to earn a doctoral degree. And good to know you don't respect the folks who dedicate their careers to researching and solving educational problems, including a number of faculty members at your own university.

I'll agree there are problems with education in the US. But, having spent my entire career in the field, I'd chalk those problems up to the shifting of public funds from public schools to private (especially religious) schools; the consistent denigration of and low pay for teachers relative to other, similarly educated professions, causing many good teachers to leave the profession as well as an oncoming teacher shortage; a teacher accountability system that evaluates teachers on factors outside their control, rather than the quality of their actual teaching; the preponderance of standardized testing which has consistently shown in research to be an ineffective tool for assessing learning and is often culturally biased; a group of (some) parents who do not acknowledge that teachers are professionals in their field and, instead, perpetuate a culture of disrespect for teachers among their children; among other factors. If people earning doctorates in education were the problem with American education, then other countries must necessarily not offer doctorates in education. A simple Google search will show this is not true.

Now the Washington Post Admits Trump Did Not Incite the Capitol Riot

With the second bogus impeachment in the books, the Washington Post has finally seen fit to admit that President Trump did not incite the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6 with his speech, acknowledging that it was, in fact, planned in advance.

The article, published Tuesday, the day before Biden’s inauguration, declares in its headline “Self-styled militia members planned on storming the U.S. Capitol days in advance of Jan. 6 attack, court documents say” and opens with the following paragraphs.
Self-styled militia members from Virginia, Ohio and other states made plans to storm the U.S. Capitol days in advance of the Jan. 6 attack, and then communicated in real time as they breached the building on opposite sides and talked about hunting for lawmakers, according to court documents filed Tuesday.
While authorities have charged more than 100 individuals in the riot, details in the new allegations against three U.S. military veterans offer a disturbing look at what they allegedly said to one another before, during and after the attack — statements that indicate a degree of preparation and determination to rush deep into the halls and tunnels of Congress to make “citizens’ arrests” of elected officials.
U.S. authorities charged an apparent leader of the Oath Keepers extremist group, Thomas Edward Caldwell, 66, of Berryville, Va., in the attack, alleging that the Navy veteran helped organize a ring of dozens who coordinated their movements as they “stormed the castle” to disrupt the confirmation of President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral college victory.
Several paragraphs later, here’s what the authors of the article concede:
The arrests this weekend of several people with alleged ties to far-right extremist groups, including the Oath Keepers, the Proud Boys and the Three Percenters, suggest that the riot was not an entirely impulsive outburst of violence but an event instigated or exploited by organized groups. Hours of video posted on social media and pored over by investigators have focused on individuals in military-style gear moving together.
CNN acknowledged last week that the storming of the Capitol was planned prior to Trump’s speech, reporting that, “Evidence uncovered so far, including weapons and tactics seen on surveillance video, suggests a level of planning that has led investigators to believe the attack on the US Capitol was not just a protest that spiraled out of control, a federal law enforcement official says.”
The CNN report and the Washington Post article completely undermine the entire case Democrats made for impeaching Trump. As I previously noted, the riot at the Capitol was either planned in advance or inspired by President Trump’s speech. It simply cannot be both. That the media is starting to acknowledge the whole thing was planned in advance now, after the bogus impeachment, is no accident.

They are not my people. Why would you say such a idiotic thing? I got the old glory hanging here pal.

Before 1/20/21 I would have replied to this post listing all the destruction and the corruption of the 45th President. I would also have cited the misogyny and the racism and the lies of the former President but why bother? It’s over.

I challenge Beth or anyone to list examples of "destruction" by the 45th prez, because not clear what you mean by that or even if you know what you mean by that.

That is just the first unclear element of your statement, but let us see you back it up if you can.

I'll agree on non-accredited institutions. Why don't schools of education count? Is education not a valid field of study? Does this include Purdue's school of education?

Does her having a EdD or whatever phony baloney doctoral degree she has means she's more qualified to educate people than those with a PhD? If so, why isn't she teaching at an Ivy league school?

Again, she'll be known as Jill or the first lady, she's not a 'doctor' despite what her mail-in degree says.

Jimmy Kimmel of 'Man Show' fame is your muse, PD? The show that viewed women as bimbos and sex objects?

Joe was probably a big fan of that show, considering his history of groping and inapropriate touching.

Kimmel is your typical hypocrite lefty lib. Now that he's 'woke' he doesn't think it's funny to put big breasted women in bikini's on trampolines.

The post wasn't about Jimmy. You will not address what it was about. Never have never will. Everything has to get turned around with you.

Been over 15 years since that show for Jimmy. This is really your argument?

Bob,
next time you go out to dinner, if you have a black server, will you promise to tip them more than you would a white server to atone for your white privilege?

And yet you are allowed to teach our children? I hope it is not history, actually you shouldn't be teaching anything
I got to agree with Crayfish. People like Beth, who are supposedly helping to educate our children, are likely to be quietly pushing them to a liberal, left wing thought process.
That's very concerning and the reason why I ask my school aged daughters on a regular basis, what the teachers are saying about Trump, Republicans, and conservatives.
Because you can damn well guarantee, that if any of their teachers start giving personal opinion on politics, the school administration will be getting a call from me and that teacher will be addressed.

No, and never did I say it did. They’re simply degrees that focus on different things. One is not better than the other. What credentials do you have to make the claim that an EdD is “phony baloney?” I suspect you have none, and it’s simply a position you’ve adopted so you can disparage Jill Biden while making it look like it’s not actually about her. All of a sudden, lots of people, most of whom I suspect have never held an opinion on the matter in the past, have decided that only some doctorates are worthy of the title.

Why isn’t she teaching at an Ivy League School? A ridiculous question. Has she applied for a job at one? Are there fewer people with EdDs than positions at Ivy League Schools? That’s basically like asking “if that guy’s engineering degree is so great, why isn’t he working at NASA?”

My credentials: I have a BS from Purdue and an MBA from one of the most recognized and prestigious schools on the globe.
As for the phony baloney degree Jill Biden got. I guess they're handing out doctorate degrees pretty cheaply these days. I bet I could take an online course and in two weeks, have something that says EdD on it. I will then walk around correcting people to address me as "Doctor".

But to answer your question about her teaching at an Ivy league school: I've seen high schoolers write better papers than the garbage she put out, errors and all.

So you haven't been through a doctoral program, have no experience working in higher ed, and no training or experience in education. So that means no credentials.

I didn't ask the question about Ivy League schools, you did. I simply pointed out that it was a ridiculous question because it implies that anyone with a particular credential should be working at the most prestigious organizations in their field and that, if they are not, their credential must not be worth anything. How many high school papers have you read? I've read a lot, undergrad papers, too, and I suggest your claim doesn't hold up for either group. As I said in my earlier post, anyone's dissertation can be criticized. They're written at the beginning of one's career in academia (by which I mean doing serious research and such in one's field, I understand she and many others teach college without a doctorate) and, I'd suspect, it'd be difficult to find one that both has no writing errors and where the research could not be questioned. They are also only one portion of a doctoral program.

My point remains: referring to her as "Doctor" cheapens the work and effort put in by true doctoral students and degree earners.

And yet you have not supported your claim that an EdD isn't a "true" doctorate.

Well, considering that in my family we have BS, MBA, PhD MD and DDS, and until about 10 days ago, I'd never heard of an EdD, I'd say even if it were a true doctorate, it's about as valuable as those "My Kid is on the Honor Roll" bumper stickers.
