Would Graham survive reelection if he votes since he told America to "hold the tape" about him keeping his word? He's in a tight race right now.
Also, other Republican senators are in fragile (Tillis) or interesting (Alexander & Sasse) positions that come into play.
I understand your point but wait until you know some young girl who is pregnant. You apparently believe life starts at conception? I'm not so sure and I have no one in my family I have to worry, married or beyond their child bearing days. People who are rich enough will head to the Carribbean, Mexico or Canada like they did in the good old days.
If Republicans are concerned about the election being impacted, they can simply wait until after Nov. 3rd to vote.
Either way, 6-3. The oldest Republican is 72. The oldest Democrat is 82. Conservatives will control the Supreme Court for at least the next few decades. It’s a great day.

I'm talking about Senate majority. You've made the prediction that you don't think there is any way Republicans will lose control of Senate. If Mitch McConnell says there will be a SC vote regardless before inauguration, then I will predict Democrats will take control of Senate.
Republicans likely already have most of their single issue voters in line who want a 6-3 SC who were going to vote Republican anyway no matter what, but showing the hypocrisy of Republicans and what that means for more than just the abortion issue, voter turnout can only go up for Democrats, especially with independents. You will also literally have that much more ad-play against vulnerable Republicans using their own words against them.
I wouldn't even be surprised if Bloomberg or others like him threw more money at these state campaigns calling out the Republican hypocrisy.

Republicans aren't losing control of the Senate. There will be a conservative justice appointed to the SC prior to 2021. It won't matter regardless as Trump is going to win re-election.
I don’t think you understand conception if you feel that would always work. Face it there are no easy answers which is why I have come to the conclusion to let the woman decide if she wants to carry a child to term. Again I don’t like abortions either but it’s a woman’s right to choose and we have been dealing with this same issue for probably longer than you have been alive and Roe V. Wade should be allowed to stand as about every other country has similar laws. A lot deeper thinkers than either you or I have spent years on this issue and we are both men too that will never have to directly face the issue.
I do understand. You basically give the woman the opportunity to prevent pregnancy after having sex. If a woman chooses not to take Plan B, then it's on her. Roe V Wade will be revisited. We will see how the heavy conservative majority rules.

Republicans will get crucified by their base if they don't at least attempt to go through process. They can't afford to wait, it would be political suicide to delay. There is no way Schumer and democrats would wait if they controlled the senate and White House.
It's very possible, the process will hurt Republicans in November.....but the do nothing strategy is guaranteed to kill any chances they had of winning in November. Rule #1 of politics.....don't upset your base right before the election. Or as George Bush Sr ("read my lips....no new taxes"). learned the hard way....its never smart to lose your base.
Since about 65% of people approve of abortion it will be interesting to see how long before we see a legislative solution, which probably should have been done years ago not the way it’s going to play out.

You know in the past the doctor and his patient made the decision and no one but they ever knew of the pregnancy and the wealthier people could afford to pay for the doctor’s discretion in the matter. I am opposed to all abortions. I was just seeing how far you were willing to support it. Glad to see you don't support all of it.
At the end of the day, it will always be a woman's choice. She will be able to ingest whatever she feels like to end the pregnancy that could even jeopardize her own health... and it will be available to no end... and nobody would even have to know about it.

You know this is nice and all but it’s Mitch who prevented Garland’s nomination from being heard for 10 months due to a presidential election but now the same man is in a rush to have a nomination heard. I agree all nominations should be heard in a timely basis but like Napoleon the pig from Animal Farm some animals are more equal than others and apparently Napoleon was talking about the Republican Party.
It's politics. I would expect a Democrat controlled Senate to do everything they could to prevent a Conservative from making it onto the Supreme Court as well.
