Milton Friedman who is basically the father of modern conservative economic theory was awarded the Nobel prize, and the University of Chicago which is universally regarded as a very conservative institution (not conservative compared to other universities, conservative period) accounts for more Nobel prize winners than almost any other institution. So yeah, the Nobel committee pretty clearly hates conservatives. Also, you might want to do some research on Scandinavian before assuming Scandinavian countries are synonymous with U.S. liberals (see https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffre...dic-countries-are-not-socialist/#7bbe128174ad). In Norway for example, a significant amount of the social safety net is funded by the country's sovereign wealth fund which is not funded via taxes and is almost entirely funded with revenue from oil extracted in Norway and has approximately ~$1 trillion dollars in assets.

I assume you would agree 2017, 2013, 2007 and 2000 are all relatively recent and are each years UofC economists who are all considered conservative to very conservative won the Nobel prize in economics. As such, the suggestion that the Nobel foundation has an anti-conservative bias is not supported by fact. If you are speaking about the Peace Prize Committee specifically, I would agree you are on firmer ground (but somewhat necessarily as a result of the relevant subject matter), but as a general matter the Nobel Committee is pretty moderate. Pretty hard to claim a group that nominated the father of the atomic bomb for the Nobel prize in physics three times is hard left.

I don't know about the campus professorship as a whole, but the political leaning of the campus students are 60% liberal. Wouldn't surprise me that the majority of professors are liberal as well. Things have changed a lot over the last couple decades. As far as economists being conservatives winning the prise in economics, I'd be happy to see that if that's the case. Considering Obama won one for doing absolutely nothing, it would be a shock to me.
First, my statement was specifically about its economics department not its student population as a whole, and I find it rather interesting that your 60% number is exactly the number that is offered in the unscientific results of a poll of 73 self-selecting students that is the first result if you google UofC conservative. I gather you have not spent any time around graduates of Booth or UofC's law school. Graduates of one or both are prevalent in my professional universe and are as a general matter rather conservative. Not in the Trump bastardization of the term but in the traditional libertarian laissez faire sense. Let's just stipulate I actually know what I am talking about not pulling it out of my rear in light of the fact Wikipedia has a heavily footnoted multi-page article laying out UofC's role in modern conservative economic theory (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago_school_of_economics).
