yeh baby

Love these vids.

This reminded me. The last two games, it seems we really made an effort to start the second half with running a few plays to TKR on multiple plays down the court. He has delivered for the most part, but just found it interesting we have done that.
I was going to make a comment on that. I can't remember who said what, but between Painter's postgame, and the trio of Smith/Edey/Jones postgame (or was it Fletch?), someone said we just took what the defense gave us, and the other said it was a concerted effort to get him involved.

It was for sure in the second half of Wisconsin game and then the second half in the IU game…it seemed they ran actual plays to get him the ball and not Zach. Granted I know Purdue doesn’t always run plays for players, but it just seemed more like they were focused on getting him the ball. I don’t mind at all, just observed it and whatever works, I’m all for.

If anything I assume it keeps Trey’s confidence up. I’m all for it cuz we may need him in March if zach is officiated by all these “non big ten refs” that we keep hearing about.

I'm sure it's both. His impact has faded some offensively, though his rebounding has been strong and needed.
He needs to stay involved offensively and the team needs that extra scoring. These lower scoring games recently haven't been our best efforts on the O end, but some of our best defensively.
I didn't think this team would have occasion to hang their hat on the D, but they have, and won doing it.
Biggest difference between this and last year by FAR.

I think Reneau had 2 fouls in the first so maybe we wanted to attack him and get him into foul trouble quickly. I also think it changes how defenses attacks us when we go to TKR in the low post. If he can figure out his free throw shooting, he will be first team All Big Ten next year.
