Why not go after Spencer Rattler?

Brohm has been active in the transfer market. Rattler is now backup at Oklahoma. Mel Kiper stated he will likely have to transfer and reestablish himself as a viable high draft pick. With Aidan O. moving on, I think Rattler would be a great pick up and would be great in Brohm's offense. Of course, Rattler will likely have his choice of locations but it doesn't hurt to give him a call (and a sports car). Awkward Situation for Spencer Rattler

I could see him at Clemson. DJ is really struggling in that offense this year. I would say this has Bama all over it but they have their QB.

No thank you, kid is a headache and not easy to get along with.

Regardless of whether it'd be a good move for Purdue, it'd be a bad business move for Rattler because of the QB room you've got + what you've got coming in.

And that's not a dig at Purdue at all. He's a RS-So, although I suppose technically a RS-Fr because of the free COVID year. It's a pretty big risk for him to come to PU and face getting supplanted by Allen or one of the guys you've already got because then he burns another year of eligibility and it's damn hard to go to a 3rd school and try and find his place. He needs to go somewhere he's relatively confident he'll be able to earn a starting role and try to shoot his shot to get to the NFL. IMHO.

Talent wise, if he came to Purdue he should be the starter for next season. He will have to go somewhere that promises him the starting job and I don't see Brohm doing that for a kid that will bring a lot of headaches with him.

If we finished with a respectable record, O’Connell comes back next year and starts and takes us deep. That kid can just flat out play the quarterback position. You don’t break what works. Enjoy the last few weeks of the season and as consistently as our defense has played, it’s very possible very good things happen

He is the 1 QB at Oklahoma in the past how many years that couldn't score points at will. Yeah let's get that guy!

Make sense with the O line getting more and more experienced. We'll see against Whisky if the O line's play against Iowa was a fluke or not.

To get him, you’ll have to promise him the starting job and Brohm doesn’t seem to do that (see Hunter Johnson) and I don’t blame him.

If the kid can’t succeed with all that Oklahoma had around him, how could he succeed here

Dodged a bullet with Hunter Johnson. Some here were crying over that one.

Let's not anoint O'Connell just yet. He played extremely well against Iowa. Hopefully the same will happen against Wisconsin. I'd say we'll be able to judge whether O'Connell is a good answer by end of season.

Sure. Let's get a guy that's already shown he'll tuck tail and run if he's not the guy getting all the love.

Dude HE is good. If you’re expecting him to be Steve young if Wisconsin takes advantage of holstege, Miller, Witt then that’s on those guys not him

Never said he wasn't good. But he needs to show it in more than the Iowa game. I thought he played brilliantly against Iowa. But that's only one game.

Will more winning bring on more “neat ideas”? 🙄

here I’ll go.. well you know, Purdue has a lot of astronauts. Wouldn’t it be cool if our QBs threw passes from space? Wouldn’t that be neat guys? 🙄

When I think of spencer rattler I think of Andrea Bargnani … if both guys were named Dan Smith, there would never have been much fascination with either

He is a bit of a head case with Daddy trying to manage him. Remember a Mommy trying to manage her son on our basketball team not all that long ago? That plus I’m not a fan of Radler beers. For those reasons, I’m out.

Purdue simply doesn't need him. We already have Alaimo and Allen who will likely be battling for starting roles over the next couple of years...

Lot of folks in the stands at Ross-Aide. How'd that work out for Brohm? Just saying.
A 4-2 team, going into a sold out game against Wisconsin...

Yes, Purdue lost (unless you want to make it only about Brohm), but the fans are engaged....

We're now 4-3, and clearly showing the progress of building of a program. All that without the cloud of sexual misconduct... at this time. 😉 🤞
