Why No TV? Again.

It's Lehigh. Also It's on espn3. I get that isn't traditional tv, but it's pretty good considering who we are playing and all the good football games on.

Used my son's XBox One to get ESPN3 - just goto Apps---although I'd strongly recommend having your 12 year old figure it out for you... ;)

What good is BTN? What does it take to get a game on a real TV?

It's some overly complicated process of ESPN getting first dibs for its main networks, then BTN gets certain number and then ESPN gets the next round of picks, etc.

The fact of the matter is that IU, Ohio State and Michigan State, etc. basketball gets better ratings than Purdue.

And then you have one-off situations like the game vs. ODU has nothing to do with the game tonight since that was part of a tournament.

I'd rather it be on ESPN3 vs. BTN Plus though. And we only have one more non-televised game left (it's on ESPN3).

Do you guys even realize that BTN didn't even have rights to air this game even if they wanted to?

I love people badmouthing BTN. It's laughable. BTN is pretty much the only thing keeping the lights on (of course not at the FB stadium where we still don't have lights).

This is like half true I believe. There's a complicated way of picking games. It's no coincidence that every IU, MSU, OSU non-conference game is on BTN, but many of ours are on ESPN3. There's a back and forth in their selection process. It is true that BTN could not air the game tonight because ESPN had the rights to it, but they probably had the opportunity to select this game in their "picking" but chose to pass on it (I believe they have a max they can pick).

This has been discussed before. Once we have a good team, we'll be on TV again.

I know on Peegs they have complained about BTN+ and ESPN3, so I believe that IU has not had every one of their games on Regular BTN either.

I'm just glad we can watch all of the games in one way or another. I like Cliz but would much rather be able to actually see the game.
