They talked about the cradle of QBs and mentioned Dawson, Griese, Everett, and Brees but never Mike Phipps, unless they did at some point and I missed it. Heck, Phipps is in the College football Hall of Fame.

I don't remember if they included Mark Hermann and Gary Danielson, but how the heck could they forget Cecil Isbell. My father thought he was great.

Stuck with the guys who had good to great pro careers.

I wondered the same thing.

It's the media. They do what they want. No accountability or loyalty to anyone or anything except themselves and their agenda.

I can't believe people actually have heartburn over this. I felt the broadcast was very pro Purdue. Hell, they had Drew Brees in the booth for like 20 minutes. Good God it's like clock work with this media bias garbage. Just watch the game.
Spencer Tillman was pretty impartial, now the other guy not so much.

Campbell and Herman were not mentioned because, yes they were great college players, but neither did much in the NFL. The average fan would have no idea who those guys are. They only mentioned guys that did something significant in the NFL that people wild recognize.

They mentioned Everett. He did not do much in the NFL from what I remember. Not much more than Herrmann and Orton if that.

When a network mentions that a school is the "Cradle of Quarterbacks", they need to mention more than just 3 or 4 quarterbacks. Fox is new to the college football scene and I think is was a significant oversight to not mention, as others said, Phipps, Danielson, Herrmann and Campbell etc. ABC/ESPN has mentioned these guys when Purdue has been on TV.

Oh for Christ sake, some of you will complain about anything. And Orton and Hermann(!) weren't in the same stratosphere as Everett in the NFL.

Hermann - career 12 starts, 4,000 yards and 16 TDs (Everett threw for 4,300 yds and 29 TDs IN 1989 when his backup was... Mark Hermann. MH threw for 59 yds that year in case you were wondering, and I know you were.)
Orton - 82 starts, 18,000 yds, 101 TDs
Everett - 153 starts, 34,800 yds, 200 TDs, 1 NFCCG

Your memory is as weak as your take.

"Well my real point was.." in 3, 2, 1..

Everett had a nice NFL career and was among the career stats leaders for quite some time.
Always played with lousy teams - first the Rams then the Saints. On an average team he would have been even better.
