Who's going to be the new IU coach

IU is a party school. Only a disciplinarian (like Knight) will find success there. Besides, the IU job is equal to the UCLA job. Successful decades ago, but now a normie.

I doubt any IU fan cares about what a coach does outside of his job or his personal life or his past. Take a look at our past presidential election and how indiana voted!

All IU fans want is a winning program. If their team wins, all else is forgotten and forgiven.

Beard or Scott Drew make sense, Beard can Coach, hope they bring in Drew, great recruiter so/so Coach, I do realize they won a title with him though.

So if you recognize that too, exactly what about Brad Stevens would have "the college basketball world crap its pants"?
The dude is considered to be one of the brightest basketball minds on the planet. From x's and o's to roster construction. Plus a name that'd immediately be able to gain attention to recruits.

Don't disagree that Steven's is one of the brightest minds in basketball but he has been removed from the world of CBB for 12 years and counting and almost 4 years from coaching in the NBA. I think there would be a learning curve getting back into CBB because it is a different world.....look at the HoF coaches who this new world has left in its wake.

Not saying it wouldn't shock the world but would be curious who he would put on his staff to support him and how it would work.

He's been away a while but I don't think it'd hurt just with how much he's still been around the game. It'd be interesting to see what kind of strategy he'd bring. He seemed to always coach a good defense. But his offense would be interesting. It'd definitely be more modern than Woody(which isn't difficult).

McCollum would be a perfect fit as IU plays more like a division 2 program anyway.
They might get Ray McCallum...he's available and an assistant at Tulane. With the current status of the fan base (largely uneducated) and their belief that IU is still "that place" everyone wants to come, most coaches would rather be somewhere else. And there's still that Bob Knight Curse that's still being funded every year.

Maybe PJ or Sasha can cut their teeth with coaching a lower level school like IU. Get some experience there and then look for a big boy job.

You put WAY too much stock in what the "basketball world" cares about IU. Would it be news? Sure. Would everyone crap their pants? Nope

Only pants being crapped would be clown pants.

But those are so full from $h!tt!ng the bed for the last 25 years, where would it all go???!!!
