Whoever they hire, it surely means the end to Purdue’s dominance.
Pearl, Self, and Sampscum would be loved at IU now that it's legal to buy players. I can see Calbert on their short list.I don't even have Pearl on my list. I'd take him without any doubt, I just don't think there is anyway he leaves Auburn now.
Only way he's back in this state is when the Pacers and Boston play, and he's at his lake home in Northern Indiana. We just know that if somehow Indiana got Stevens, the college basketball world would crap its pants.
Oo this is gonna sting those Indinia fans:Good article on their suspects.
Who could be Indiana's next basketball coach? Likely (and unlikely) candidates
Could Brad Stevens take the reins in Bloomington with Mike Woodson expected to leave the Hoosiers after this season?www.espn.com
Bryce Drew too clean? You know Vandy paid for Darius Garland and Shittu right?Bryce Drew would be their best bet but unlikely to get a call. Too clean for IU.

Calbert isn't on the list. He wants nothing to do with coaching. I think be likes his role as a development guy.Pearl, Self, and Sampscum would be loved at IU now that it's legal to buy players. I can see Calbert on their short list.
So if you recognize that too, exactly what about Brad Stevens would have "the college basketball world crap its pants"?Yea going through the tourney takes a lot of luck. It's also very difficult. I figured a Purdue fan would understand that.
The delusion of Indinia fans.what about Brad Stevens would have "the college basketball world crap its pants"?
The dude is considered to be one of the brightest basketball minds on the planet. From x's and o's to roster construction. Plus a name that'd immediately be able to gain attention to recruits. So if you recognize that too, exactly what about Brad Stevens would have "the college basketball world crap its pants"?
Drew turned down the Kentucky job last year. Doubt he'd take the IU job.Beard or Scott Drew make sense, Beard can Coach, hope they bring in Drew, great recruiter so/so Coach, I do realize they won a title with him though.
Don't disagree that Steven's is one of the brightest minds in basketball but he has been removed from the world of CBB for 12 years and counting and almost 4 years from coaching in the NBA. I think there would be a learning curve getting back into CBB because it is a different world.....look at the HoF coaches who this new world has left in its wake. The dude is considered to be one of the brightest basketball minds on the planet. He's been away a while but I don't think it'd hurt just with how much he's still been around the game. It'd be interesting to see what kind of strategy he'd bring. He seemed to always coach a good defense. But his offense would be interesting. It'd definitely be more modern than Woody(which isn't difficult).Don't disagree that Steven's is one of the brightest minds in basketball but he has been removed from the world of CBB for 12 years and counting and almost 4 years from coaching in the NBA. Not saying it wouldn't shock the world but would be curious who he would put on his staff to support him and how it would work.
They might get Ray McCallum...he's available and an assistant at Tulane. With the current status of the fan base (largely uneducated) and their belief that IU is still "that place" everyone wants to come, most coaches would rather be somewhere else. And there's still that Bob Knight Curse that's still being funded every year.McCollum would be a perfect fit as IU plays more like a division 2 program anyway.
You put WAY too much stock in what the "basketball world" cares about IU. Would it be news? Sure. Would everyone crap their pants? Nope
