I know Purdue hasn't given us much to be excited about the past few season, but I think the next 2 weeks are big for what this season will be like. I am hoping for a good crowd this upcoming Saturday against Virginia Tech. Let's do our part in supporting this team and hopefully cheer them on to victory.

It's a good (and unique) opponent to have at Ross-Ade. Being in the DC area, VA Tech fans used to dominate the area. But it's quieted down a lot over the last few years.

Judging by the ticket map on Purdue's website, there's a ton of tickets left to sell.

Is there still rain in the forecast for Saturday???? Does that help us or hurt us?

Looks like a high around 75 with morning showers. I hope the field isn't too wet. I don't think we can only rely on our running game against VT. We need to be able to pass the ball and spread the field.

If you think morning showers that ended 6 hours before game time will really make an impact on our passing game - we're not much of a passing team.

I'll be making the five-hour trip from Michigan, just as I have for all but two home games since 2006.

You, sir, are a masochist -- in a football sort of way, of course -- look forward to seeing you Saturday -- save me some beer -- won't be there til noon.
