Obviously a mess, but just for some discussion, what are some positives that he's walking in to.

1. New facilities: long overdue and much needed. Stadium still needs a lot of work IMO.
2. New AD, doesn't have to deal with MB1.
3. Some position groups: LB, Bentley, Bailey, Danny E could be a solid group.
DL could be decent even loosing Replogle. Wilson and Neal should be starters at DT and both showed some flashes. Larkin and Gelen likely start at end, not great but serviceable across the board.
RB, Jones, BLJ, Worship, Fuller, far and away our best group, but obviously OL is and will be a struggle. TE is also solid with Herdman and Hopkins.

Really need to recruit OL and recruit it hard. If it is Fleck (big if) wouldn't mind him bringing some of his 3* kids in this class with him. Couple three star OL in their class. Haven't checked out other classes of guys discussed but if they have some players who could play here, flip them.

It's going to be a process with whomever they bring in, our roster as a whole has so many holes it's going to take time. As fans we need to trust the process, it can't get any worse so hopefully the new staff can build us back up. Here's to hoping it goes well, Boiler Up!

Issue is that a lot of the kids Fleck is getting in are kids that may not qualify at Purdue. Doesn't change that they would be upgrades to a lot of the current players.

Right, just need all the solid players we can get, like you said if they can qualify.

Question is....Can Fleck actually recruit kids who can pass the exams at Purdue. His recruiting has been known to be suspect at his current stop.
I think it's an issue of locating and finding kids who are good football players and smart kids as well. NU does that and has consistently top 30-40 classes...same with Stanford. There are no excuses to recruting to Purdue...only those who are willing to create them. Purdue needs to find a coach who is able to identify the talent that can make his system work while also finding kids that can get in to Purdue. If NU and Stanford can do with their harsher restrictions, then Purdue has no excuses.

Haven't you been arguing for Les Miles? Most of his players take "Advanced Alphabet: The Letter J and Beyond" and he gets to give SEC "gift bags" on their visits.

Fleck would be much more prepared to recruit to a place like Purdue than Miles.

I've heard the Advanced Cut and Paste with Miss Lippy course at LSU is pretty challenging also.

Purdue needs to address this football stadium issue. Alcohol needs served on alumni side, at least beer. Lease out the food outlets in the stadium to local providers, anything but what is served now. Purdue would double revenue on food by leasing out at least part of the stadium for concessions and by opening their own beer center at the stadium on alumni side serving craft beers. Stadium gets all alcohol rights on alumni side. Get corporate sponsors to pay for luxury box seating. Let in early tailgating.

The problem with Purdue football is the stadium is a big herpy on Purdue's sports lip. Looking at that stadium is like a gigantic herpy lip. At least make it look good.
