What makes UT fans think…

This is not what Vol fans are mad about… we will never know what Purdue would’ve done had they given Tennessee the TD. What has Tennessee fans and many college football fans pressed across the nation is that the referees completely disregarded that our RB got his arm across the goal line prior to the whistle being blown… and sure our tight end might’ve tried to pull him closer to the goal line but the refs can not say that he didn’t score bc they missed that penalty, nor can they throw a flag after reviewing the play. It all comes down to the simple fact that you teach football players to play til the whistle, and our RB did that and got screwed by the refs bc of it.
Fans across the nation. Joke right?Whistle blew first.

His left leg didn’t stop moving and he takes a big step right before he reaches the ball out into the end zone…. I will admit y’all played a great game and y’all’s QB is legit and I hate that y’all’s win is shadowed by this missed call.
Again, the only reason he was still moving forward I mean forward not moving he can squirm all he wants but the moving forward was only kept alive by his teammate. And who knows how much further they would’ve pulled him backwards as Purdue defenders (everyone forgets that the defense was pulling him in the opposite direction, legally ) had the teammate not been acting in an illegal fashion.

You realize it has nothing to do with the whistle being blown right? Our guys stopped your RB’s progress and the ref was running in to call the play dead. Doesn’t matter if the whistle is blown or not. He didn’t reach over the goal line until well after his forward progress had been halted (and his own player started to pull him into the endzone which is illegal). Take the L and move on. Be grateful we didn’t have our 2 high NFL draft picks there or it would’ve been a blowout.

The only people saying it wasn’t a crap call are Purdue fans. Media guys who cover college football all over the country who have no bias are calling it a bad call. There’s a reason for that.

We were picked by most to finish 6th in the East just ahead of Vanderbilt coming into the season. Heupel only had around 70 total players on the entire roster. We lost far more talent through the portal coming into the season. Heupel had to use a transfer QB and installed a completely new offense.

This is Jeff Brohm’s 4th or 5th season, right? Full roster and stability.

Props on the win, but the refs played a big hand in it by looking the other way while Cedric Tillman was held by his jersey going after the ball and the TD that the nation excluding Purdue fans know was a TD was botched.

If the refs made the wrong call and gave the UT RB the td in OT, was the game over?

(Insert “think” joke here), but, let’s say they give them that TD in OT. What makes UT fans think Purdue doesn’t score a TD to tie it.
Do they not realize Purdue gets the ball as well or did they think it was sudden death?
Given how awful TN defense was, there was no guarantee that they would have been able to stop Purdue and force a second OT.

Also, don’t forget we were without our best offensive lineman, Cade Mays, who was out with an injury and our best defensive back, Alontae Taylor. Both are getting ready for the draft.

Congrats on the win. Our defense needs more depth and better talent. You have a good coach in Jeff Braun.

Take pride that you beat a team in football your slow conference colleagues haven’t done since the early 1990’s (Penn State).

That's such b.s.

What's more, you can disagree with "the call", for sure. The TD was not going to count once "the call" was made, regarding forward progress. Doesn't matter. You still lost.

The referee did NOT cost you the game; your coach and players did.

Stop whining about "full roster". Purdue didn't have a full roster, either. Hells bells, we can play this game all day long. the only game that matters is the one you lost.

Watch the video man! He scores the TD, and then the play is ruled dead, also the rb legs never stopped moving and they didn’t push our rb back, therefore forward progress never stopped. As for Purdue’s offense, it’s untold what would’ve happened if Purdue needed a TD. He could’ve score but could’ve also thrown INT #4….
Wah!Wah!Wah! You sore losers remind me of Indiana basketball fans. Are you also still upset about losing the Civil War that your insurrectionist ancestors started? Boo hoo hoo.Cry me a river.

His name is Jeff Brohm, not Braun.Yes we are proud of our upset win and remember that Purdue is 2 and 0 against you Rocky Tops. And never forget that Purdues Drew Brees Saints shocked Peyton Mannings Colts 31 to 17 in the 2010 Super Bowl,/.

Its funny that you gripe about one call when your dbs were called for numerous holding and pass interference calls and got away with many others.

More excuses ehh? Brohm inherited a dumpster fire when he was hired. And his B squad just beat you guys in front of a Tennessee home crowd. Sucks to suck.

Take pride you’ve never beat Purdue, in anything.
Basketball, football, etc.

Hey, I just heard a shotgun! I think Jethro shot you another coon! Y’all eatin good tonight!

Also pathetic how the game was over 4 hours long with all the “injuries” to catch a breather and help get adjusted. lol.
The Purdue coaches simply out coached UT. If UT is trying to run quick plays, then Purdue is going to do what’s needed to slow them down. All totally legal.
(your RB is still down on the 1. Forward progress stopped).

Boilers, Boilers, please!

If we are going to make fun of our inbred country mates, where they consider oral hygiene a hoax, we need to use emotional responses, not our superior intellects and “facts”. That will just frustrate them - Like a monkey trying to open a potato chip bag. Do you know how much a pain in the ass it is to look up every work over two syllables?

Sure we could wait until Monday and then make the one UT fan at work come back to our office to take out the trash a second time In a day and play our fight song. We are better than that!

We could also point out the reason they were short players all year is cause of punishment from the NCAA but that would be petty! They have to cheat! Heck they can’t win 9 games while cheating, what do you think would happen if they had standards like we do? Milton Wright didn’t play because of grades. UT’s academic (it means grades) standards are at about the same level as their oral hygiene and which family member they date.

Boilers, we are wildly more successful in life than practically all of their alums. Heck, I lived in K’ville for three years and I was named Dean of the Engineering school simply because I went to Purdue - didn’t even interview. Sure I had to tell them that I wasn’t that kind of engineer; we have real engineering and it doesn’t mean who gets to blow the whistle on the train. They were sad sure, but I wasn’t a dick about it!

Boilers, please. Let’s let these guys have their moment in the sun. They made it to overtime! Almost won! That and changing the name to Peyton Manning University is all they have left to hang their hats on.

UT fans- Don’t fret (means get down), I did hear some encouraging (means good) news though: Rocky Top is going to get a remix! That and a new chicken fingers joint is coming to Knoxville! To the useless Sunsphere no less! Now there will be at least three chicken finger joints for every person in town AND that stupid useless tower will do something other than look like a giant sex toy. Win win!

Now if you will excuse me, I have a Gardner winterizing here on the west coast. His helpers are grads from IU so they don’t know which way to put the sod. Green side up guys!

The only people still crying about a bowl game are in Tennessee.

Simple as this...they were VERY fortunate to convert on the first 4th down attempt on that series...and, if they could not convert from the 1, with the "heavy" personnel package and what not...they should be mad/disappointed in themselves.

Heupel was incredibly arrogant, and, it backfired.

Ultimately, the mere fact that it even came down to that and having to "be pressed" about anything is what really should bother Vol fans...the fact that they were even in that position because of their HC being arrogant and them completely looking past Purdue is what should be most bothersome to them...not an alleged "missed" call.
Bingo! If they want to be pissed blame their whiny fat HC. Stupid play calling at the end of regulation to give Purdue a chance and refusal to make any adjustments defensively when Thompson was abusing their over matched CB 1v1 off the line of scrimmage. The poor guy was holding and grabbing every down and still couldn't stop a guy with two bad knees. Heupel was looking to blame anyone and everyone he could to take the spot light off himself. I sometimes question Brohm's decisions but to his credit he owns his decisions win or lose. As another mentioned TN may have been more talented but the hardest working and best coached team won.

What do you mean? We beat TN every time we play them. You do know there is probably a Vol site full of people that actually give a damn what you have to say.
