I don’t think they threw a flag for that because they had already ruled the runner down. The only missed call was your TE illegally trying to pull the ball carrier into the end zone.

Fans across the nation. Joke right?Whistle blew first. This is not what Vol fans are mad about… we will never know what Purdue would’ve done had they given Tennessee the TD. What has Tennessee fans and many college football fans pressed across the nation is that the referees completely disregarded that our RB got his arm across the goal line prior to the whistle being blown… and sure our tight end might’ve tried to pull him closer to the goal line but the refs can not say that he didn’t score bc they missed that penalty, nor can they throw a flag after reviewing the play. It all comes down to the simple fact that you teach football players to play til the whistle, and our RB did that and got screwed by the refs bc of it.
Again, the only reason he was still moving forward I mean forward not moving he can squirm all he wants but the moving forward was only kept alive by his teammate. And who knows how much further they would’ve pulled him backwards as Purdue defenders (everyone forgets that the defense was pulling him in the opposite direction, legally ) had the teammate not been acting in an illegal fashion. His left leg didn’t stop moving and he takes a big step right before he reaches the ball out into the end zone…. I will admit y’all played a great game and y’all’s QB is legit and I hate that y’all’s win is shadowed by this missed call.

It would be plural, so should read:Gotta throw in one or two “y’all’s”….

The only people saying it wasn’t a crap call are Purdue fans. Media guys who cover college football all over the country who have no bias are calling it a bad call. There’s a reason for that. You realize it has nothing to do with the whistle being blown right? Our guys stopped your RB’s progress and the ref was running in to call the play dead. Doesn’t matter if the whistle is blown or not. He didn’t reach over the goal line until well after his forward progress had been halted (and his own player started to pull him into the endzone which is illegal). Take the L and move on. Be grateful we didn’t have our 2 high NFL draft picks there or it would’ve been a blowout.
LOOOOL!This is Jeff Brohm’s 4th or 5th season, right? Full roster and stability.
If the refs made the wrong call and gave the UT RB the td in OT, was the game over? The only people saying it wasn’t a crap call are Purdue fans. Media guys who cover college football all over the country who have no bias are calling it a bad call. There’s a reason for that.
We were picked by most to finish 6th in the East just ahead of Vanderbilt coming into the season. Heupel only had around 70 total players on the entire roster. We lost far more talent through the portal coming into the season. Heupel had to use a transfer QB and installed a completely new offense.

Props on the win, but the refs played a big hand in it by looking the other way while Cedric Tillman was held by his jersey going after the ball and the TD that the nation excluding Purdue fans know was a TD was botched.

Given how awful TN defense was, there was no guarantee that they would have been able to stop Purdue and force a second OT.(Insert “think” joke here), but, let’s say they give them that TD in OT. What makes UT fans think Purdue doesn’t score a TD to tie it.
Do they not realize Purdue gets the ball as well or did they think it was sudden death?

Wah!Wah!Wah! You sore losers remind me of Indiana basketball fans. Are you also still upset about losing the Civil War that your insurrectionist ancestors started? Boo hoo hoo.Cry me a river.Watch the video man! He scores the TD, and then the play is ruled dead, also the rb legs never stopped moving and they didn’t push our rb back, therefore forward progress never stopped. As for Purdue’s offense, it’s untold what would’ve happened if Purdue needed a TD. He could’ve score but could’ve also thrown INT #4….
His name is Jeff Brohm, not Braun.Yes we are proud of our upset win and remember that Purdue is 2 and 0 against you Rocky Tops. And never forget that Purdues Drew Brees Saints shocked Peyton Mannings Colts 31 to 17 in the 2010 Super Bowl,/.Also, don’t forget we were without our best offensive lineman, Cade Mays, who was out with an injury and our best defensive back, Alontae Taylor. Both are getting ready for the draft.
Congrats on the win. Our defense needs more depth and better talent. You have a good coach in Jeff Braun.
Take pride that you beat a team in football your slow conference colleagues haven’t done since the early 1990’s (Penn State).
48-45Also pathetic how the game was over 4 hours long with all the “injuries” to catch a breather and help get adjusted. lol.
Its funny that you gripe about one call when your dbs were called for numerous holding and pass interference calls and got away with many others. The only people saying it wasn’t a crap call are Purdue fans. The Purdue coaches simply out coached UT. If UT is trying to run quick plays, then Purdue is going to do what’s needed to slow them down. All totally legal. Also pathetic how the game was over 4 hours long with all the “injuries” to catch a breather and help get adjusted. lol.

That photo looks eerily close to the spot where the UT RB was correctly called down on the 1 yard line. You
Lost

The only people still crying about a bowl game are in Tennessee. The only people saying it wasn’t a crap call are Purdue fans. Media guys who cover college football all over the country who have no bias are calling it a bad call. There’s a reason for that.

Bingo! If they want to be pissed blame their whiny fat HC. Stupid play calling at the end of regulation to give Purdue a chance and refusal to make any adjustments defensively when Thompson was abusing their over matched CB 1v1 off the line of scrimmage. The poor guy was holding and grabbing every down and still couldn't stop a guy with two bad knees. Heupel was looking to blame anyone and everyone he could to take the spot light off himself. I sometimes question Brohm's decisions but to his credit he owns his decisions win or lose. As another mentioned TN may have been more talented but the hardest working and best coached team won.Simple as this...they were VERY fortunate to convert on the first 4th down attempt on that series...and, if they could not convert from the 1, with the "heavy" personnel package and what not...they should be mad/disappointed in themselves.
Heupel was incredibly arrogant, and, it backfired.
Ultimately, the mere fact that it even came down to that and having to "be pressed" about anything is what really should bother Vol fans...the fact that they were even in that position because of their HC being arrogant and them completely looking past Purdue is what should be most bothersome to them...not an alleged "missed" call.
What do you mean? We beat TN every time we play them. You do know there is probably a Vol site full of people that actually give a damn what you have to say. Also, don’t forget we were without our best offensive lineman, Cade Mays, who was out with an injury and our best defensive back, Alontae Taylor.
