What a great VB win over #4 Wisky

3 sets to 1, but all the sets were close. Ended a THIRTY game home winning streak for Wisconsin. Newton was fantastic with 19 kills. And Purdue won despite 12 service errors (they drive me crazy). What a great night for ShondelL.

Now on to #8 Minnesota on Sunday. Great time to be a Boiler.

I suppose it would be too much to ask for us to be in their bracket for the NCAA tournament. I won't pretend to understand everything about volleyball but we seem to do well against them for whatever reason.

did you guys hear about the beginning of the Maryland at Nebraska game. As the Nat'l Anthem started 3 um players knelt and the Neb. fans started booing and some told them to stand. Then some Neb. players started to cry about the doings on. After the game the Neb coach apologized and said the crowd shouldn't have done that.

Hate to hear this - I understand people being upset about players who kneel, I’m not a fan of that, but the gesture is not on a “disrespect” level like burning the flag or trashing it, or hurling obscenities at law enforcement or the military….. it’s a quiet protest and I hope they appreciate that they have the freedom to do it b/c of the sacrifices of others.
Booing them, and telling them to stand up is also a freedom but apparently caused some unfortunate fallout for their own team. Tough day there

I think just one player from Maryland from what little I've read. Could be wrong. Think I read she's been doing so all year too. And the Nebraska fans gave her the attention she's been virtue signaling for.

A big part of it is that we are a very good blocking team, and Wisconsin is a little easier for our blockers to read than some of the other teams.
We’ve been able hold Dana Rettke well under her season hitting average of 0.455 in our two matches against them this season. Against us she hit 0.267 and 0.45 in the two matches.
