Probably around there but check this stat out:What does everyone think? I’m going to guess 8.
That class will probably be the winningest class at Purdue before they’re done. Plus, Caleb hasn’t ever lost an OOC game.
3 teams lost in front of us, and Arizona was the only one that was that big a surprise. I don't see a ton of movement, maybe to 10.What does everyone think? I’m going to guess 8.
You generally jump some people if you're outside of the top 10 and beat the #2 team in the country. We won't be top 5 but 10 is low.3 teams lost in front of us, and Arizona was the only one that was that big a surprise. I don't see a ton of movement, maybe to 10.
You forget that it was on Peacock so it didn't actually happen. You generally jump some people if you're outside of the top 10 and beat the #2 team in the country. We won't be top 5 but 10 is low.
Agree. Most voters are going to want to put AL behind us and won’t want to drop them from #2 to out of the top 10 for losing to #14 at Mackey. I’m guessing Purdue at #7 or 8 with AL one spot behind.I think we will be 8th or 9th.
Note that Houston only dropped 4 spots after losing essentially at home. To a top 10 team of course but still. I just don't think it's a lock that Purdue is ahead of Alabama.Rick Bozich had Purdue 12 last week, 8 this week.
The UConn hack David Borges kept Purdue at 16 (ha has Bama at 4).
Yeah I think had this NOT been a home game for us and we won, it'd be different. But our home court advantage is so huge that you have to think they will take that in to account. Which says a lot for the crowd (in a positive way).Note that Houston only dropped 4 spots after losing essentially at home. To a top 10 team of course but still. But if it were Cameron duke would be top 3. That’s why I’m thinking 9, still doubters.Yeah I think had this NOT been a home game for us and we won, it'd be different. I agree that some pollsters will look at it that way, but that seems like nonsense to me. If a team behind you beats the #2 team in the country, you have similar records and you haven't beaten a team of the caliber, you should slip. If the #2 team in the country loses on the road by nine to a team without a loss, there's no excuse for them not to fall behind them. It’ll depend on who lost ahead of us right? It’s not common to go down in rank if you win out the week. Guessing we just move up a few slots, at least ahead of Arizona. Also, not sure we will move ahead of duke, but maybe? It would be a huge drop for Alabama to go below us for a road loss, so not sure we pass them either.
9th is the lowest reasonable ranking. I don't think there would be a lot of room to complain about that unless Alabama is ranked higher. But if it were Cameron duke would be top 3. That’s why I’m thinking 9, still doubters.
YES!!! March will look great, as long as we keep on keepin' onEarly season polls in both college football and college basketball is skewed toward traditional powers…and will shake out as more games are played. Nevertheless…the win against Bama on Friday will look very good on the resume come March …as Painter said in a post game interview.
I do kind of agree, just thinking back a few years when we were beneficiaries of this. We were ranked number 1 and were consistently just scraping by teams without looking very good. But we didn't lose, so we kept poll position until we did lose.I agree that some pollsters will look at it that way, but that seems like nonsense to me. Five B1G teams in top 25AP #6. Marquette steady at #15.
Well, well, well…6th.
Beating #2 will give us plenty to jump undefeateds with no big wins and Alabama will have to fall below us on principle.
