When Marquette's guards started bombing from long range and erased our double digit lead I was thinking "oh man, here we go again". I would have bet a dollar that we were going to lose that game.

To the team's credit, they weathered the storm and kept plugging...I love it. A Purdue team that doesn't fold in the 2nd half.

I agree it is early yet, but we do look a little better than decent in my opinion! Marquette played their hearts out and we still crushed them by 15. I am not sure they were gassed either; they were raining 3's late and we always seemed to have the answer. Yes, their best 3 point shooter fouled out, but by that time the game was already decided; there was no way we were going to lose. I don't want to get over confident but when you look at our roster and all of our returning players; I see improvement in every player compared to last year already. Its almost indisputable. Then you consider the new pieces we have with Haarms, and Eastern as the main contributing new guys and that just bolsters our improvement as a team even more. Eifert played solid last night too except for that one free throw. He reminded me of his Dad a little bit last night - a solid player giving you valuable minutes. Go ahead and pour me another glass of the Kool-Aid!

And arguably our best all around player only played 16 mins due to fouls.
