Well time to exit the forum for a while.

I get that... and people will over-react. But... c'mon, this is comically ridiculous. Arkansas-Little Rock? Up 13 with 3 minutes to go, and lose?

Don't worry... we'll do something just as pathetic to end the season next year :D.

You just saw a supremely talented Purdue team get beat in the exact manner Butler, UM, and Illinois did this year. Coach missed the dance for two straight years and has lost two straight years in the first round. The team did not and had not improved in the deficient areas of turnovers, poor shot selection, and inability to handle press in multiple years.

You can't honestly expect fans to just sit and support a coach who has been mediocre at best over the last half decade.

Dude...because you can't defend him anymore! Killer instinct is what we need and that my friend we will never have under Painter!

I am still in shock. Two tournaments in a row we lose in an unbelievable way. And this was the year, guys... I don't care how much we under-performed throughout the year. There are no elite teams this year. We had a very favorable bracket. We have the size advantage -- something we've always dreamed of. We were even a trendy pick!

Yet a first round exit. This really hurts. I don't know if it's Painter's fault, or the players' or (probably) both. But this is one of the most talented teams we've had in one of the least talented NCAA fields I've seen and we couldn't even sniff the FF.

When are we going to have a chance again? I don't know. This sucks.

Sure I can, I am just not going to bother because right now no one is going to listen. It will only spiral in to a quagmire so what is the point? Nothing good is going to come of it so why waste my time?

Purdue and Painter deserve every bit of criticism after that game.

Team had way too much talent for these results.

Leave the board if you want but over 2 million a year demands results and to argue otherwise is naive IMO.
Not disagreeing, there just won't be a chance for civil discussion over it. I'll be back, just gone for a while as things calm down and rational thought can take place.

I've said it all season, things are not as bad as they seem nor are they as good as some think either.

C'mon man...take your blinders off! Seriously..his coaching has been horrible in late game situations. You can't admit that? How many plays did we draw up for our BIGs late?

Well it hasn't been great under Painter. Im sick of just being decent with no national respect. We will be decent under him but never exceed expectations.

I would say after this season's finish things (as far as making some serious noise on the national stage) are pretty bad. There was a lot of talent on that Purdue team and a loss like that is extremely disappointing and it was again hammers home the "Purdue never wins the big game" narrative (which really does hurt in recruiting) and it's hard to argue at this point.

I can understand leaving the board if you don't think there is going to be constructive, or maybe organized is a better word, discussion but Purdue once again crapped the bed on the national stage. Painter had a lot to do with it IMO.

This is pretty much how I see it at this point. He's a good top 25 coach but he isn't, and I don't know if he'll ever be, a great coach.

His deficiencies (team consistently struggle offensively, isn't a good recruiting salesman) are exactly where the college game is going. He has his strengths (defense, talent evaluation) but I don't think they can compensate enough for Purdue to become a top 10 program under him.

Do not forget free throws at crucial times. Three different missed free throws by three different players at the end of regulation and the OTs would have won / saved the game. These free throw contests before the games do not seem to be working.

I'm with you BBG, but I will say this. I just rewatched the last part of the game and an unbelievable lot things went right for ALR. Can't blame Painter for a fade away 30ft 3 pointer to send it to OT, Or three critical missed free throws, one each by Cline, Mathias, and Hammons. Or the three bunnies missed by AJ and Vince at the end of regulation. Also after watching the replay several times Hill's arm was grabbed on the last play causing him to lose the ball and his balance. So all this has to go for ALR and against us and it did. Now they have 30 wins so it's not like they never did this before.

Forget all that crap. We never should have been in that position to begin with. Fire Painter.

Pretty sure you could whisper this into BBG's ear in the bed you all share together. Let people alone and let them vent.
