I'll be tuned in for sure. I know with certainty that sports evokes emotions that are unique. Why? It is hard to put into words, but the experience I had at the Purdue vs. Ohio State went from gut wrenching interception certain loss to euphoric high in ~ 3 or 4 plays.

The wife wanted to go see the new Lady Gaga movie until she saw what MNF was, especially since it's rare for me to be able to watch the Saints on Sundays.

Truly a special player and great representative of Purdue.
It’ll be harder to beat considering he has been a starter for 18 years and likely could play 2-3 more at a high level. If he wants to, he could put some of these records really out of reach. There are possibly 2-3 qb’s in every generation that stick as starting qb’s for 15+ years. Right now it’s Rogers, Brees, Manning, and Brady. The next wave is likely Newton, Mahomes, and maybe one or two from the current draft class.

Add to that the ability to throw at a high level at that stage of your career. Even Peyton Manning was a shell of himself throwing the ball while in Denver...he just couldn’t spin in.

I agree. Some of those guys are putting up massive numbers, but for the most part, not quite at Brees's pace. Plus, they'd have to pretty much avoid injury and play until they're 40+.

Just completed a pass to himself - they said that was the sixth time he's caught his own pass. I recall that happening in college, and the stadium announcer had my friends and I roaring laughing when he said... "Brees - pass complete to...Brees". Anyone recall what game that was?

Tends to sidearm his passes going deep …

Lacks accuracy and touch on his long throws …

Seems more comfortable in the short, intermediate passing attack …

Does not possess the ideal height you look for in a pro passer …

I remember that, with the stadium announcer adding the dramatic pause. That was the Old Oaken Bucket game in 2000 to go to the Rose Bowl. What an amazing game that was!

Scott Van Pelt and ESPN can KMA. Did everything this morning to disparage how he broke the record.

You’re exactly right, and let’s not forget to add in mostly injury free in your career. I think it’s a testament to what Drew has done as a quarterback to prepare himself. Sure he had a major, major injury. How many more yards would he have if he was not hurt and had to sit out for an entire year?

I remember watching Leroy Keyes back in the day when I was a huge Boilermaker fan. He was my favorite (at the time) Purdue player. But my all-time favorite has to be Brees. Not only because of his accomplishments on the football field, but in the way he conducts himself off the field. Pure class.

Pretty ironic that my two favorite Quarterbacks of the modern era came from my two most "hated" rivals - Purdue and Tennessee (Peyton). I use the word hate loosely. :)

Congratulations to Drew....and to Purdue on his legacy.

It's actually Brees who made me a Purdue fan. Coming from New Orleans, I can say first hand that their love for him in Louisiana runs deeper than football. He stood up to lead the city back from Katrina, fueling their hope and optimism. Cajuns are a "can't keep us down" type of people but it helps to have an icon to rally around and Brees embraced the city and stepped up to be that icon at a very difficult time. Especially given the fact that he is not from the area and that the Saints are his second NFL team, it will always mean a lot to the people of Louisiana and they will always feel a personal connection to him because of it.

I had always enjoyed watching Purdue when I could over the years, but Drew made me a Purdue fan. He's very unselfish and settles for nothing less than excellence from himself and his teammates. I think that's indicative of the culture that Brohm is instilling in the football program and why I think Purdue will become a very successful program in the near future.

I spend most of my time over on the BB board, but like you am well aware of what New Orleans means to Drew and what Drew means to New Orleans. Match made in heaven.

Look to the right of his throwing motion picture...stomach to hip level high. Boiler Up!!! Subliminal messaging is Awesome. LOL
