Two things I enjoyed seeing the last game in particular.

1) I liked Myles putting the ball on the floor and creating problems by driving the ball. I hope this is controlled and continues.
2) I like Trey kicking the ball out. As good as he has been, he took the single coverage when he got the ball perhaps too much to heart previously and the opposing teams knew to sag towards him even if not an initial double early as they too knew what single coverage meant for Purdue.

Now, every team looks very good when shot are falling and Purdue is not going to be 1.6 eff I doubt in the future, but the effort of the team was good and Purdue can beat a lot of teams with that effort, and intelligent play, even if the shots don't fall quite as often

Yes, something has changed or someone has told him to be more aggressive (or he may just read our posts 😂). But him doing this puts pressure (at least somewhat) on the defense to have to pay attention to him doing this. He doesn’t have to always score, as him just driving and kicking or dribbling with purpose makes it a tad easier on the big 3 to get in better position. Hope it continues and hope Heide does more of it too.

Good call out here. He is a beast 1 on 1 so teams have to double him if they want to stop him. For the tournament, I assume all teams will be throwing a double team at him, in various ways no doubt, so hope he is ready. If Myles, cam, gicarri and CJ can hit those kick outs at a decent clip, we will be hard to beat.

Very true. When shots arent falling, definitely need to not give up easy rebounds and limit the 50/50 balls. Illinois is very, very good at rebounding (they miss 20 3s a game so they have a lot of opportunities). So boilers better be ready to find a body and box out.

Looking forward to seeing how we play in a hostile environment.

Re: Colvin

Love to see him drive but he needs to finish. He seems to favor going left but doesn't finish strong..like he's not comfortable with it. He had what I thought was a sure layup with his left hand but switched to his right and got it swatted.

Well the more opportunities he gets the better he becomes. A lot of ppl all have higher expectations of him and cam than evn the big 3.

It’s very difficult to hit shots from 3 on low volume and also finish 100% of the time near the rim when you get 1-3 opportunities…especially as a 19 year old. I do like the enthusiasm and expectations, it will come the more opportunities he gets.
