Actually, I always thought the story was Wooden's wife loved LA, and that's the reason he went & stayed there.
 
And at this time in my life, I'll toast a National title for the Boilers in 2017!
FWIW...you mentioned Rangeline and it was a few years ago I asked if he took his moniker due to an old conference when I was involved and coaching and he said yes...and made a comment that it had to be a Boilermaker to understand how he got his moniker...got a few chuckles out of that.

Graduated in 1974.... as a Liberal Arts major of all things...lol! Ended up later with USN giving me Masters in Satellite Comms- and then on to Naval War College....Who would have ever thought it after the 70's...?!?( Flower Child in hiding and Renaissance Woman....lol!)But will always bleed Old Gold and Black.. So maybe, TReece, just maybe!! :cool:
