2025 Transfer portal thread

North carloina transfer cade tyson purdue one of the schools that wants him he is a small forward and is 6 feet 7
Looks like a kid who should go back down the ladder and get more playing time. Took the step up and barely played. Tell Davidson to give him a call.

Speaking of those 2 - don’t think they’ve landed anywhere yet. Curious who they are in touch with. Could see both being contacted later in the window as teams finalize their needs.
Honestly haven't heard or read a thing on either. I saw on IG the other day, looked like Berg got some new ink, so that may be consuming all of his time currently;)

Benter is 6feet 5
Size is about the shoes at that point. Cam for having absolute Hops seldom played his height, Basically took set shots, and had issue with guarding the 4 positions. These forums are a bit sad because it tears down good players. Cam is good player, but he played out of position because a poor ball handling skills and lack of depth at the 4, really lack of depth at the 5, like Berg was the only 5. As tall as Dr Furst was he plays more 4ish. Now that there is depth at 4/5 if we don't use those player and go Small with TKR at the 5 Benter can be the 4, YES would get a 4/3 but given the team is loaded we are going to get someone who is will to play a role on a Championship caliber team, which seems rare these days.

Cam was pretty damn good from mid Feb on. Guarded wolf from Michigan, ace bailey from Rutgers, and Houston front court very well down the stretch.

I was not surprised that one of Cam and Myles left…but was when both left.
It’s unfortunate they both left . Always thought there wasn’t room for both next year but was for one. Now we need a 6-7 offensive wing to take pressure off the guard court. If we get Mayer maybe not. With Mayer and Smith and Loyer , add in Harris ( if he stays ) and Cox as backups. Throw in Benter and West for about 5-10 minutes each could keep everyone happy. With Harris and Cox and Hopefully Mayer his sophomore year the big minutes they desire in their junior year

4-5 would be TKR , Cluff , Jacobsen and Burgess. And that would be 10-11 . Which means Burgess and West and Benter not getting the minutes they want BUT TKR and Cliff leaving after next year will open minutes for the following year if Paint can convince them to look long term

Murphy looks like a player who would clearly be brought in as a depth piece at the 3 and 4. He doesn’t look nearly as athletic as Cam, but he does appear like he can get his shot off more quickly. He’s a proven shooter with some length and if he is willing to come in and embrace his role mostly backing up TKR, this could make sense.

From an article in the athletic:

Presumed core: PG Braden Smith, F/C Trey Kaufman-Renn, G Fletcher Loyer, C Oscar Cluff, G C.J. Cox, G Gicarri Harris, C Daniel Jacobsen
Hole to fill: Athletic wing scorer and defender
Portal candidates: Terrance Arceneaux, Cedric Coward, Tyrell Ward

Several new names
