Try That in a Small Town

I know you are a fake Purdue grad. Still waiting for you to tell me how to get from The Union to the Stewart Center. I bet you can’t tell me what happens when a coed walks next to the Stone Fountain Lions outside the Stanley Coulter Hall building.
Nothing happens.

Unlike you, I can tell you who pays the great majority of income taxes in the US.

Fair enough, at least you're not trying to act like it's some deep, meaningful song like the guy who sings it but didn't write it or the doofus that started this thread.
Still waiting for you to tell us what you consider a deep, meaningful song.

Hung up trying to choose among your Taylor Swift faves?

Make song with intent to create drama. Get drama. Act surprised by the drama. Go figure.

What does Mr Aldean know about a small town? Macon isn’t small.

Yeah, I've seen that become a standard come back lately. But the song is from what I saw, accurate. When the riots were going on, there were rumors of them trying to take the "protest" to smaller more rural areas. Everyone I knew in those areas were ready for it and pretty much their exact take was "try that here".

What I find funny, this song came out in May, no one was hardly aware of it until the left started complaining and now it's rocketed up the charts thanks to all the publicity.

Also kind of funny, the right boycotts you have Bud Light, the left boycotts and you get a hit song. I think there might be something that could be taken from that. And no I wasn't part of the Bud Light boycott because I don't drink that crap to begin with.

There you have it. I knew a racist like you would say something like that. Therein lies the problem with this song. Attitudes like that is why many correctly perceive the song as racist. Attitudes like that has gotten many black people lynched. Attitudes like that is what got Henry Choate lynched in 1927 in the very same scene in the video. Attitudes like yours is what sent a 14 year old boy from Chicago to the bottom of the Chattahouchie River. This video and was released recently and y’all wonder why black people still talk about racism.

I’m assuming you were upset about mean tweets as well?

The killings of unarmed black people by police. Take your pic which one. Most of these aren’t national news like George Floyd.

At least the perpetrators were convicted in the news report below. Most of the lynching perpetrators during Jim Crow were not arrested, let alone convicted. Matter of fact, the lynchings were a family and town event. They brought their wives and children to the town square to witness a castrated black man hanged from a tree.

More unarmed whites are killed by police than blacks. It’s not close.

Now that is a better definition. That is exactly what they did to James Byrd in Texas. And exactly what these police officers are doing to unarmed folks. Exactly what Chauvin did to George Floyd. Can’t get any public than that. Finally, exactly what is mentioned to the song lyrics. The definition with the word “hanging” in it is antiquated.
Floyd? You mean the 5 time winner of the felon championships? Society is better off now.

Here’s what people do when they care about their community.

I can dig that as long as it is legal for them to do that with guns blazing. However, the problem is when these folks hunt down someone like the racist jackasses in GA that lynched Ahmad Arbery, who committed no crime. That's what they did to blacks is whether they committed a crime or not, hunted them down and lynched them just like they did at the courthouse in the video. Some were even taken out of their jail cells and lynched. Either way, there was no trial, no jury. The song lyrics are a dog whistle that you seem to condone.

You're just trying to confuse him. Yesterday you asked how to get from the Union to Stewart Court. The answer to your current question is to take the underground hallway that runs by the billiard room (assuming it's still there). Nothing happens when a coed walks past the lions. Coed virgins are the definition of oxymoron.

Correctamundo!!!!!

So bni was wrong about the lions, proving by his own lowly standards that he is a fake grad -- not that there was any doubt based on his numerous incongruent posts on this forum.

Nope. You are the one that doesn't get it. As legend has it, when a coed walks in front of the Stone Lions Fountain which has a sculpture of a lion head on each of the 4 sides, outside the Stanley Coulter building. If the lion roars when a coed walks by then she is a virgin. If that coed is not a virgin then yes nothing happens. SIBoiler2 was being funny when he said "coed virgins are the definition of oxymoron". Joe Biden would say, "If you don't know that story then you ain't a Purdue grad".

I had a roommate from Gary Roosevelt first semester Freshman year that over the course of a few weeks "obtained" a full set of balls from the Purdue billiard room.

The lion roars but I thought she had to drink from the fountain. I dunno

For some reason there is a tiny minute segment of wacko leftist that thinks this song is racist and is a pro-lychning song?

The violent images in the video do shame the far radical left. And IMO they should be embarrassed by them....so I understand why calling them out is upsetting to their delicate persona.

I have read the lyrics. Nothing racist or pro-lychning there. So I sure the left is reaching deep on this one. LOL

But me.......I love this song. Enjoy!
I've watched the video from start to finish. There is a lot of footage of the so called BLM riots. Unless I missed it and correct me if I'm wrong. Where is the footage of the Jan 6 insurrection? Didn't they beat, spit, spray cops then? So, why doesn't Jason Aldean want to protect small towns from racist white supremacists who spit, and beat on cops? Answer that, please.

billard room is gone. :( Between that and the co-rec courts there wasn't much time left.

Maybe the crowd was upset January 6th that a policeman shot and killed an unarmed woman.

THAT was the joke, fauxgrad. The lions never roar. I even have to explain that to you?

You really want us to believe you went through 7 or 8 years at Purdue to get a degree and yet misunderstand that crude freshman joke the entire time?

Again, you are the Faux Grad. I wanted you to tell the entire story behind the so called legend.

Wow. You really want go with that don’t you? They beating cops before, during, and after that Chumptown cult member got shot by police while breaking that law, by the way.

Again, where is the footage of Jan 6 in the video?

Now you want me to read you convoluted mind, as if you expect me to understand gibberish.

A real Purdue grad would know that story is a myth, not a legend. Look it up and report back if you cannot understand the difference.

I’m pretty sure people were beating on police and breaking the law, burning, looting in Ferguson, Charlotte, Minneapolis, Atlanta, Louisville, Chicago, Indianapolis, Baltimore, Kenosha, DC to name a few.

Not sure why that behavior was accepted.

Just guessing.....Perhaps his video producer wanted to feature violence on town businesses.? Thus what they portrayed was more applicable to small towns in the video.? While the capital riot was bad, it wasn't on a business. Thus doesn't relate to the words in the song.

Perhaps if you are concerned about this, send Jason Aldean or his music producer a question in an email, & ask them.

Good luck.

Yeah, so what is your point. Aldean’s video has all that in it. He left out the deplorables doing the same thing on Jan 6.

One specific location, 3 hours, political target. That’s the difference.
BLM was burning, looting and murdering in several cities for several months, attacking small businesses and destroying what hard working Americans had spent their lives building.
Now do you understand?

Reactions: Riveting-
He was in a small town.
Laramie metropolitan area is over 35 k. Not really a small town. Also, the 2 killers were apprehended in less than 36 hours. Convicted of murder and sentenced to life in well under a year of the crime. I don’t believe they got out on no cash bail. Their girlfriends were also convicted for the roles in a cover up the crime. Not a bad performance by law enforcement and the non-Soros prosecutor huh? Bet some big city families of murder victims wish they got the same results.
