From what I saw in the U17 - Furst might be the one people are battling to get those minutes.
I don’t necessarily think TKR is a better player than Furst- but he fits better next to tre.
I still just don’t see how a Furst/Trevion lineup would work

I don't know if he will have the speed/quickness for that spot as a freshman. It might be dependent on match-ups if he would see time at the 3. I am sure Painter gave him to-do list to get opportunities at the 3 but would seem like a big jump from 4 to 3 as a freshmanJust curious, and I have no idea at this point .... but can/could TKR play the three for extended periods (not just in a time-of-need)?
Yea, I have never been convinced he can be a 3 from what I have seen. I think he is going to have to really work to get there. Hopefully, he will and/or maybe Im wrong, idk. My eyes just dont see a 3 when I watch him play (youtube clips, not in person).I don't know if he will have the speed/quickness for that spot as a freshman. Not enough camera view to identify why the close out was not very good to know whether it was mostly location and sight of ball and man or just a physical issueDrive and finish were nice, but I have a hard time not looking at Trevion's late close out and terrible recovery on the little pump fake. Should give the people who are dead set on him playing the 4 a good idea why he probably won't much.
pretty wild since they've never played together in a game.I don’t necessarily think TKR is a better player than Furst- but he fits better next to tre.

As the saying goes we will know more tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how much if any of the freshmen get time and at what position. Painter has said that Furst earned his place on the U18 team by rebounding like no one else, that could just be PU speak, but he appeared to hold his own there. Because if he is playing a 5 he is behind two rather good players and may have to play the 4 to get on the court. Not sure how that may or may not work out.
I didn't listen to the press conference, but if he's dropping weight, Painter must be planning on using him as a wing after all.In this 22-minute press conference, CMP said that TKR has lost 13-14 lbs since summertime. That was fantastic to hear.

I am sure Painter told him if you can do these x# of things, you will get a shot at the 3. Weight must be one?I didn't listen to the press conference, but if he's dropping weight, Painter must be planning on using him as a wing after all.

He looks and acts like a keeper!!!!!!I would recommend going back to post #28 in this thread and watching the short video there (1m 7s, I think) about TKR, if you have not done so already. At the end it shows him talking at length to a kd on the losing team. I was more proud of his conduct there than the way he played in the game hilites that preceded that, THIS is a quality kid we got coming in. He will make us proud both on and off the court.
He looked heavier after he came back from the injury during his HS season.I am sure Painter told him if you can do these x# of things, you will get a shot at the 3. Weight must be one?
And to think that a former poster here was telling us that TKR's secret to success was to bulk up. 😁In this 22-minute press conference, CMP said that TKR has lost 13-14 lbs since summertime. That was fantastic to hear.

The same that said Trey wouldn't play with Furst. Can’t remember the name of the poster you are describing- but I am pretty sure they spoke in hillbilly language from what I can recall.

I am the one that said that I do not see how Furst and Tre starting together would work.Williams, Edey, Furst, Gillis, Kaufman, Newman, Sasha, Ivey, Hunter and Thompson...heck of a deep team.
The same that said Trey wouldn't play with Furst.

When they were being recruited?? Well, sometimes people just get it wrong. They kept recruiting both and landed both.I am the one that said that I do not see how Furst and Tre starting together would work.
The whole BS about not playing together was an IU thing. Think after Furst committed the Loosiers beat that drum to improve their chances with Kaufmann. Guess their drum had a hole in it.When they were being recruited?? Well, sometimes people just get it wrong. They kept recruiting both and landed both.
Trey, not Tre, meaning Trey Kaufmann
He wasn't alone. Most of the Loisiers pushed that narrative. They knew they weren't getting (didn't want!!!😉) Furst so they needed to get Kaufmann.Oh… that is gonna get confusing since before this season Tre meant Trevion lol
So BillyHillUI is the one that said Trey and Furst wouldn’t commit to the same school? Don’t remember that.
No biggie since they got Duncomb, who’s “just as good” as Furst. The whole BS about not playing together was an IU thing. Think after Furst committed the Loosiers beat that drum to improve their chances with Kaufmann. Guess their drum had a hole in it.

I did the same. If, I could only have that time back.Well that even further confirms he was an IU troll. I feel even worse about the time I wasted arguing him
As of today, a 2048-day sized hole. The whole BS about not playing together was an IU thing. Think after Furst committed the Loosiers beat that drum to improve their chances with Kaufmann. Guess their drum had a hole in it.

I lost 30 pounds my freshman year at Purdue (didn't need football weight anymore). I've gained it all back now and tried losing it again recently...my body said "Wha? Nope!"I love how these young bucks can come onto campus and drop 10-15lbs in like 2 months, while us old guys try to love 10-15lbs over 10 years and it never happens.
Most people put on a freshman 15, not lose a freshman 30! Fortunately, I come from some decent genes and still weigh within 5+/- 3 of my graduation weight. If I were willing to give up the booze, I'd probably make some progress (but that's not an option).I lost 30 pounds my freshman year at Purdue (didn't need football weight anymore).
