Trey Kaufman

I don't follow recruits on twitter or instragram, but do these guys get into any trash talk with iu fans or do they ignore it?
Did they post stuff after the win last week?

Really never happens with any recruits . Normally they tweet about others teammates who commit or get offers . I don't recall any Purdue recruit ever trash talking . I know Furst and Goode had some back and forth about playing each other but both were complimenting the other . Jameel Brown retweets about many of Purdue's wins without comments he is just proud of his future team . Good citizens make good teammates and Painter recruits accordingly . Not that trash talking makes you a bad teammate or citizen .

Maybe this was posted somewhere, but Trey Kaufman just became the all time leading scorer at Silver Creek with 35 points against Bloomington North.. He passed former IU Hoosier Steve Green. Lots of talk about Furst and Loyer here lately so I thought I’d throw that out here. Congrats Trey!

Kaufman
He also had 12 rebounds and 8 blocks . Seen a Tiktok of him blocking a shot where his hand was at the top of the backboard . Kid has hops not at Aaron Wheeler 's level but close .

Seems a more controlled level. I don't think Wheeler even knows his own athletic ability and what he could be. Seems content 🤔

Don,t remember anything about Brown ..a walk on???

I think I read that he was under the radar because of an injur, and then no one could watch him play because of Covid. But the Purdue coaching staff had seen enough and made him a priority. Looks like a great get for a scoring PG.
Thanks,,wait til you see Loyer...seen him couple times now...talk about scoring..lays 30-50 on every game with another D1 Illinois kid on the team..at one point 43-44 free throws besides and 6'5 SG

I watched the Homestead vs. Blackhawks game. Announcers said he leads the nation in FT shooting. He's the real deal.

His Rivals ranking jumped from #135 to #96 this week.

Don't think it's necessarily complacency with Wheeler, he just doesn't have great body control. He's 6'9 with long arms and not the proper core to control it. People can tweak this but it seems to be a limitation of his body mechanics. Just because someone is fast and can jump high doesnt mean they have or will ever have great control.
Just like the lack of touch TJD has. He likely won't be able to learn that no matter how hard he works.

Wheeler is a role player. Nothing wrong with that as he seems to be embracing that role.

There hasn’t been much discussion about him this off-season, considering that he’s Painter’s third highest ranked recruit ever, if I am not mistaken. The two ranked higher, Swanigan and Moore, turned out to be great players. TKR might just be an impact player this year.

Looking forward to the start of the year after seeing the jam by Trey Kaufman-Renn in practice. Forward will be a strength this year.

I would have been more excited if it pulled the trigger on that 3 and buried it. Not sure how many opportunities a 6'8 PF is going to have to take it all the way from the 3pt line into the lane for an uncontested jam. But, it was pretty to watch.

I think you’re forgetting Gillis. He at the very least is going to be in the top 10 of minutes played.

Gillis is suspended for the first 4 games. If TKR starts and produces, Gillis will have to fight him for that starting job when he returns.

Drive and finish were nice, but I have a hard time not looking at Trevion's late close out and terrible recovery on the little pump fake. Should give the people who are dead set on him playing the 4 a good idea why he probably won't much.
