haven't been there in many, many months, but just went. couldn't see anything to see what their opinions were and "why" those opinions existed if there was a "why"...IU Message Boards...across the board( pardon the pun) there is a strong consensus that IU is a lock....Kind of like MSU and Furst!
Course if Ingram were to pull the trigger a lot of suspense would go away. Purdue is building a "team" it appears.

Not sure what the free boards are saying, but the consensus from our writers was that it was a 3 team race between Purdue, MSU, and Virginia for Furst. We never got much traction there.

The timing makes sense, but if those were the views then it only makes sense that Purdue was very strong...maybe awaiting a commit around that time. Can that relationship disappear through speculation of something? Who knows?
There was no doubt Purdue was strong. Possibly even the leader. That changes with the Furst commitment though. Still has a great relationship with the PU staff, but it’s a roster issue Purdue likely can’t overcome.

I don't use that site to know how to use it, but if I put 3/10 down it still lists 2 analysts and 1 puiblisher for Purdue...none for the others. Does this mean those people that predicted on 2/17 still hold the same opinion on 3/10? I'm not familiar with table...

b) Furst is going to change his mind and go to IU and CMP needs a back up plan.

The same reason Painter continued to recruit TJD when everyone knew he was going to IU? There is literally no downside to it.
FYI, I’ve never once said Kaufman was going to IU. Just that it’s being widely reported that he likely isn’t going to Purdue.

So, I got it now. Anyone that IU offers is the leader at the time of offer and when they don't want them and get a player that the fans think has a higher ceiling like Franklin over Newman and possibly Kaufman over Furst....got it.
I would have preferred Newman over Franklin. I prefer Kaufman over Furst because he’s a better shooter and we need shooting in the worst way.

It was widely reported that Furst was going to MSU. We hear wide reports on every player... most are wrong. CMP has a history of having multiple bigs at one time. Hammons, Haas and Biggie were all here together. Until I hear the kid is naming his school, you have no more insight than the rest of us and you look foolish saying a site forgot to update their picks for the kid after they updated the date to today.

Well, it was also known that Dale wanted him to go somewhere else besides IU and heard he actually preferred Purdue for the style of play.

They and you said the same about a kid that didn't commit to IU last year. You know the kid that everyone wanted and was TJD's good friend but decided to wear Blue. The same was said then. So, it still sounds like an uneducated guess to me.
Has he stated any preferred field of study...not that it means much to "many" players? Has he indicated when he expects to commit since 2/17 has passed by about 3 weeks now. Will he commit as soon as his season is over or is there a word out on it?

I haven’t heard anything about a preferred major. They aren’t expecting him to make a commitment until late spring or early summer.
