There are still a lot of uncommitted recruits out there but, if I'm understanding it right, looks like our top targets are JJJ, Eastern and Xavier Tillman.
Looking around the internet I wasn't able to find real opinions or predictions (for free lol) about how probable is that they will commit to PU, so I'm asking your opinion: how many of them (if any) do you think will be Boilers? And who do you think is the best fit for Purdue and vice versa?

P.S. this thread is just for having fun and discuss with bold predictions and speculations but if you think it's bad luck to talk about this just close the thread down :)

You want to know why you can't find any real predictions? Because most people realize it's pointless to speculate on what these 17/18 year old kids might do. It's not like anyone here has any real insight. To that point, nobody can really offer an informed "opinion" on what they might do. It's more like you're asking people to guess.

You're absolutely right, it's not like somebody can be inside the kids' head, that's for sure. I just thought it could be fun for people to discuss about it and try to predict or guess, since there are a lot of websites that talk about recruiting, crystal ball and things like that. So I thought I was not the only one interest in that :)
Anyways, if make predictions it's pointless let's talk about wich one would you like to see at Purdue the most and why, if you like. And no, "all the 3 because they are good" is not an acceptable answer.

I really haven't seen any of them play so the only thing I have to judge there is 2nd-hand information but from what I've heard/read Jackson is a versatile forward that can do just about everything which we seem to need for our offense to perform well (thinking of Hummel and Vince) so if I had to pick one of the of them I guess I'd go with him. I also believe that correlates to the rankings I've seen for whatever that's worth (not much in my estimation). At the end of the day, whoever wants to come and represent Purdue will be the players I cheer for.

Yeah, it's the same for me. For what I saw (just highlights) and read Jackson looks like the most intriguing of the three, not just from a talent standponit but also becuase I think that a frontline of Vincent, Haas (both of them will be back for their senior years, I think) and JJJ could be super fun to see and effective, versatility all over the place!
Eastern also looks very talented and can create a nice combo of scoring/playmaking with Carsen.
Tillman as well looks like a really solid player and it will be good to bring in a player that is similar to Biggie in some ways, with is rebounding and scoring inside ability.
So yeah, everyone of them will be a nice addition for sure :D

I know very little about any of these players, but from what I hear about Eastern, it sounds like he could be a great compliment to Carsen Edwards, two combo guards with complimentary strengths.

For what it is worth:

247 Crystal Ball:

Tillman 50/50 between Michigan and Michigan State (only one prediction from 2016 and that was in July)
Eastern at nearly 100% MSU (made Feb 2016)
Jackson does not have a crystal ball prediction

Disclaimer: I was one of the posters stating Tillman would be Purdue's first commit.

This is just a hunch.....no inside information or intense knowledge of up-to-date recruiting data.....so take it for what it's worth.....

think Purdue gets one of these three.....still hard to tell.....but if I had to put something at risk:

Tillman (Marquette)
Jackson (Purdue)
Eastern (Michigan State)

CMP could still have a solid/good class......

MAYBE we'll know more tomorrow......

Prediction: 0/3 based on history

1. 0% chance on a 5* that wasn't adopted by a Boilermaker
2. 0% chance on a scoring PG
3. 5% on a 4* PF with size and scoring ability

I'm a curse for these predictions so I say we get none of them. I'm seducing my curse with gypsy science. The only one I got right was Biggie and there's an asterisk beside that one. Maybe I need to kill a chicken with a broken mirror.

What I'm worried about is that one of these days they're going to stop/change the 5th year senior transfer rule and then we're really in trouble. Only in Boilerland but it's my school till I die. Almost 3 day weekend....yes!

Where's that 7'3 guy? I want to keep up the recent land of the Giants theme. Besides guys over 7 have interesting personalities don't they?

Isaac seems like a genuinely super nice person, but then so does PJ, the shortest guy on the team.

I say we get two of the 3.......

All starts with what Jackson Jr does.....if he commits then I think things start to shake out.

I think Eastern is a good fit if C. Edwards moves to the 1 spot exclusively, but if he doesn't then it cuts the minutes of Eastern...which is a interesting dynamic.

I hope Eastern says yes because him and Edwards on the court together would be amazing to see.

If JJ goes elsewhere, then I think Tillman, John or Brown possibly pull the trigger for us.

I also think with Carsen Edwards showing he can play the two more than the 1, Painter looks at some PG more seriously and CJ Roberts or Pierre-Louis.

Roberts and Edwards would give us two quick Texas guards that also would be fun to watch.

I also like a bunch of the other offers too:
1) Love Evan Battey's game and physicality but soft touch
2) Love Jaylen Butz from Ft. Wayne's hard effort physical down under game
3) Epperson has an intriguing game for an Austrailian big man

Lots of good choices left.....can't wait to see who says yes.

Eastern is a PG and is being recruited as such. That is what makes pairing him and Carsen up so attractive. Eastern can play point and Carsen 2 on offense and they can switch on D if the matchup dictates the need to do so.

Tillman, Eastern, and Jackson.

Any 2 or more of those3 would make this a great class after I was a little worried when Williams chose Louisville and Young chose Butler. I'm still holding out hope.

Hmm all the websites have Eastern as a SG.......great if he can play point as well....then CE and NE are interchangeable.

Love the insight of the "Gold Members" to us "freeboarders"...don't like the way they talk down to us, but love the insight.

I am just going off what all the other websites list him as...which is a 6 ft 4 Shooting Guard.....

Be well.

The versatility of the motion offense plus the versatility of Carsen Edwards will be a powerful combination. He will fit beautifully with a pure two, a pure one, or another combo guard. Not to mention Dakota for the next two years and Ryan for three years.
I believe Carsen to be the key player going forward because he is the quick drive / long range guy we have needed so badly this last two seasons. Whoever signs up to play with him will benefit from his presence.

I have seen Eastern a number of times. He is not a point guard, at least right now. He is a point forward in high school. He is being told by several schools that they are recruiting him as a point guard because that is where he wants to play. We will see once he gets to college if that is where he ends up.

Is he similar to Kelsey Barlow?

Painter will have another "0-fer" season of recruiting and we will end up dredging for D-3 Players....when you go for the 1 and done crowed you have to be able to recruit every year not 1 out of 4 years. Remember Haas...Purdue second choice and also for Biggie. Think about it you Koolaid drinkers.

Wait. Does this mean Painter gets credit for CJ Walker because he chose Purdue first?

I like you because your dumb as a post but you still try! There, that's constructive criticism.

Certainly a strange post. When did we get a one & done player? I do agree that if you lose your one & done's after a year, you have to recruit more every year (1&D are by definition, one year players), got it. However, who is a 1&D?

By the way, you lose players most years to graduation, leaving early, transfers. You need to recruit replacements every year. So what?

Also, why the too early statement of doom & gloom? We seem to have gotten the players we need each year, resulting in a top 10 ranking this year by at least one service. Is recruiting done for 2017? Seems most of the top players have yet to commit. But hey, thanks for the weird post. Nothing like a bit of amusement for today.

Is Theo John still in the fold? Who else still is for 2017 (besides Jackson, Jr., Eastern, and Tillman)?
