We can’t even beat MAC teams at this pointmsu is a very beatable team and we're down 3 scores at half
I mean look, if we had $10mil more in NIL we could watch better defensive players give up 45 to below .500 teams and Card wait 8 seconds instead of 6 to over or under throw a taller and faster covered receiver.msu is a very beatable team and we're down 3 scores at half
And what does MBob think will happen to donations if he keeps this guy another year?I mean look, if we had $10mil more in NIL we could watch better defensive players give up 45 to below .500 teams and Card wait 8 seconds instead of 6 to over or under throw a taller and faster covered receiver.
Yes, money keeps us from being competitive vs elite teams…but this coach, his staff and his schemes keep us from being competitive vs bad teams. So what does that make us.
According to Walters - Close!
I doubt he cares. And what does MBob think will happen to donations if he keeps this guy another year?
Firing Walters without a replacement doesn’t do any good. Of course Bobo could have something set up already and just be waiting for the season to end. We too often are only looking inward and not considering the dynamics going on outside our program that might impact all this.I doubt he cares.
If we don’t fire Walters after this week the “I want to retire and let the next AD hire the next coach” theory would seem legitimate.
Huh?Firing Walters without a replacement doesn’t do any good. Of course Bobo could have something set up already and just be waiting for the season to end. We too often are only looking inward and not considering the dynamics going on outside our program that might impact all this.
I wrote him after the Oregon game to check out Bronco MendenhallFiring Walters without a replacement doesn’t do any good. And at the end of the day, it Bobo's job to go find a competent football coach. This shit of nobody wants the job, is getting old!!Huh?
You fire him and go find one.
Nobody’s gunna take the job before it’s open…
If you dangled 6 mil in front of some G5 guys they’d take it.And at the end of the day, it Bobo's job to go find a competent football coach. This shit of nobody wants the job, is getting old!!
Well said 18........If you dangled 6 mil in front of some G5 guys they’d take it.
If you dangled 8-10mil in front of Klieman and Campbell types they’d take it.
We shouldn’t be, but we are too cheap to do that. Seems like we do t really want to part ways with the loser we do have.
Can’t help those who aren’t willing to help themselves.
Lack of player talent means you lose the close games, lack of coaching talent means you never stand a chance. No doubt the coaching is bad, but these players collectively aren’t any good either.
Disagree.Firing Walters without a replacement doesn’t do any good. Of course Bobo could have something set up already and just be waiting for the season to end. We too often are only looking inward and not considering the dynamics going on outside our program that might impact all this.
Agree 100%! It's all about the money, and money isn't a problem for Purdue. That's a weak excuse the apologist like to us.If you dangled 6 mil in front of some G5 guys they’d take it.
If you dangled 8-10mil in front of Klieman and Campbell types they’d take it.

Better coach=better players, both from a talent, scheme, mental standpoint. No doubt the coaching is bad, but these players collectively aren’t any good either.
Well we need more money to seriously upgrade the talent. But I don’t want this guy buying the groceries or cooking the meal.Better coach=better players, both from a talent, scheme, mental standpoint.
I am wondering if Purdue has gotten any pressure from the B1G to replace this mess. The networks can’t be happy with this “entertainment “.Agree 100%! It's all about the money, and money isn't a problem for Purdue. That's a weak excuse the apologist like to us.
If iu is willing to commit $9M a year to a HC, then Purdue should easily be north of that.
We most certainly can.Purdue probably cannot afford to fire Walters,
Agree. It’s crazy talk that we won’t or wouldn’t. I’ve heard that gamedays are a $15mil per home game winfall for the AD when you factor in tickets, parking, concessions, etc.We most certainly can.
And I think his buyout is over multiple years and if so, it's not even an upfront hit.Agree. It’s crazy talk that we won’t or wouldn’t. I’ve heard that gamedays are a $15mil per home game winfall for the AD when you factor in tickets, parking, concessions, etc.
Multiply that by 7 and that’s over $100mil before you get the first cent of a TV payout. That’s over $170mil you stand to make a year with a full RA. How much of that $100mil do we miss out on if we keep Walters? I’d imagine it’s far more than the cost of his buyout.
No chance the B1G gets involved unless there's a scandal. Meaning not a made-up one.I am wondering if Purdue has gotten any pressure from the B1G to replace this mess. The networks can’t be happy with this “entertainment “.
Gotta have some talent to coach. This roster is pretty limited. I’m not implying the coaching is good by no means, but everything needs to be upgraded.Lack of player talent means you lose the close games, lack of coaching talent means you never stand a chance.
Whaddya know, look at all these people agreeing both the talent level and monetary commitment is too low to be successful.Gotta have some talent to coach. This roster is pretty limited. I’m not implying the coaching is good by no means, but everything needs to be upgraded.
With better coaching, I think these players beat Oregon St, Northwestern, MSU, and maybe Illinois. With better coaching, we also probably have better players. No doubt the coaching is bad, but these players collectively aren’t any good either.
We came into the season expecting, based on a normal progression trend for a college athlete-Gotta have some talent to coach. This roster is pretty limited. I’m not implying the coaching is good by no means, but everything needs to be upgraded.
I bet there are agents of prospective coaches talking to agents of prospective programs about potential or likely job openings. These discussions happen quietly throughout every season.Huh?
You fire him and go find one.
Nobody’s gunna take the job before it’s open…
Not sure I agree with better wide receivers, or a star running back. I see a defensive line getting abused week after week, and linebackers being almost non existent. We came into the season expecting, based on a normal progression trend for a college athlete-
Outstanding tight end play
A serviceable qb
A star running back, or 2
An experienced Offensive Line
And upgrades at wide receiver (this was the weakness the coaches went to fill in the portal)
On defense we had a lot of questions, but an all American free safety leading the way.
Honest a lot of coaches have won a lot more with a lot less.
there's only one TE and he's a receiver mostlyNot sure I agree with better wide receivers, or a star running back. I see a defensive line getting abused week after week, and linebackers being almost non existent.
And who is to blame for that??No doubt the coaching is bad, but these players collectively aren’t any good either.
Brohm or the lack of unlimited NILAnd who is to blame for that??
do we have any LB'sNot sure I agree with better wide receivers, or a star running back. I see a defensive line getting abused week after week, and linebackers being almost non existent.
and he's not a true LB, like I said earlier in the week, I've never seen a team that doesn't have any LB'sJenkins, that's it.....
MONEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM!!!Purdue probably cannot afford to fire Walters, but it would be great if they could demote him and shame him into leaving. I have no idea if his contract allows him to keep his title but be demoted to some menial tasks within the program, but it's obvious this program will be a Big 10 cellar dweller as long as he's in charge!
I don’t think th d line is that horrible, but the LBs are. Painfully slow. Not sure I agree with better wide receivers, or a star running back. I see a defensive line getting abused week after week, and linebackers being almost non existent.
I don’t think th d line is that horrible, but the LBs are. Painfully slow.
Watch those tackles get rolled out on running plays. They make the backers look worse than they are and that’s hard to imagine.I don’t think th d line is that horrible, but the LBs are. Painfully slow.
And that's after buying out Allen.MONEY IS NOT THE PROBLEM!!!
Purdue can afford to do anything it wants.
Again, iu, one of the worst programs in NCAA history just committed $9M a year to a football coach.
