Good to have a leader.

I wonder how our offensive efficiency ranks this year? Must be pretty decent??

Looking at ppg.....Our offensive PPG is piss poor, ranking 13th, in the B10 conference. But at least we are consistent, our defense PPG is also 13. So, I guess we are equally "bad" on both sides of the ball when it comes to pace. LOL

We could speed up greatly and be a worse team.
A slower pace is not "bad" if it's what you choose because it's what your team is best at.
If you dictate the tempo, that's never bad.

According to Kenpom, offense is 8th. Defense is 63rd.

It probably didn't help. Purdue defense will still struggle against aggressive and athletic guards... That actually know how to use what they have. Marquette has those kinds of guards. Ace Baldwin is one of those guards. It'll be interesting to see how Purdue handles Dylan Harper and what kind of game plan Painter comes up with. Which Harper is easily the most talented player in the B1G with Bailey right behind him(which is why they'll be gone after a year). If Rutgers can actually figure out a way to win, Harper could be POY. As of now, I think it's Baldwin and Smith and an argument could be made for both.

Boilers lead the way it a metric that at this point in time is largely irrelevant as MUCH will change over the coming months. However, better to be on the list and lead now, than not even be a factor.

Strength of schedule is a factor here too.

Any time Braden steps on the court, every team they play will design their defense to stop him. Alabama, NC State, Ole Miss and Maryland had some very athletic guards. Bye some peoples logic only about 5 or 6 teams have athletic guards because that's about how many losses Purdue has averaged the last few years! I like Queen, I think in the end Maryland will be a tournament team because of him, Harper is playing on a BUBBLE team!

Harper is on a bubble team. That doesn't take away his talent at all. He's still the most talented player in the conference. Rutgers just happens to be 2 dudes and some guys from the YMCA.

Funny thing about the computer metrics if you keep track of them. With the start of BT play, every teams starting five metrics improved except for maybe 2 teams(Northwestern and Penn St.), because of improved schedule strength, the starters played more, the benches got shorter, the numbers went up. Purdues improved with the win over Maryland, but with Purdue playing a top 10 schedule, their bench has already played less than a lot of other teams in the BT. Schedules matters, there is only one team who has not played a true road game in BT, IU!

I think the 24 year old who should be playing in Poland shouldn't be eligible for post season awards in year 5.
