Tom reporting Walters likely to return…

I don’t understand the move to keep Walters at all. Nothing personal against the guy. Some say its the assistants..walters brought them in. Some say its the players...walters brought a good portion of them in too. Keeping Card out there when the offense is scoring 3pts a half...yup thats Walters too.

Hell even Walters must be surprised he hasn't been fired by this point.

On Twitter “per multiple sources”…

My guess is Tom, or his source in the AD's office, is the source. It's the same thing he's been saying for a month. And it's likely not coming from Bobinski, who has kept information pretty limited in the past. No one had a clue Walters was going to be our coach when he was hired.

Secondly, when was the last time Tom was right? Two years ago he had a list of head coach candidates that were about as realistic as Purdue making the playoffs.

I am sure that this is probably close to the truth that Walters is staying. Bobinski contract is up next year. He has not given any communication about this situation all year.

If it is true, can we forfeit all games next year? Klare and any good players will leave. They will get better money somewhere else. We have no recruiting class. Why would any transfers come here, except for the type of Card and ex GA players we got already.

Is there any flag football leagues that we could join until basketball would start?

Really sad if Bobinski dumps this mess on someone else. Total lack of accountability

The flip side is, do you want him making a huge decision like this and then retiring right after?

It seems to me that if this was truly how things were going to play out, why doesn't the athletic department come out 'fully supporting' Walters and at least help with whatever can be done from a recruiting standpoint?

Yeah I don’t think Tom is a guy to take all that seriously. He seems like a good guy but I don’t think he’s great at his job. We don’t have a real good football insider/columnist and that sucks. Brian is great for BB but we have nothing serious for FB. Kind of mirrors the reality of the program. No one is serious about it.

It does kinda seem like they’re keeping Walters though lol

In today's world of TV money each B1G team makes annual ... buy out amounts are not a factor. Look at IU, they paid Tom Allen $15M to leave in two easy payments. From a view from the outside and have seen parts of the IL, MSU and ND game ... I am not sure there is any justification keeping him at least another year. In this conference right now you cannot take a year off to get a HC another year of head coaching experience. I am a little surprised but I never thought they would announce anything until after the IU game.

AD's dont do that. Last year IU fans wanted the same thing you do from their AD and it was nothing but crickets from him until after the Purdue game. Then things moved really fast.

So what I have gathered Is that Tom is saying Walters is back and that JaMarcus Shephard and Brian Brohm are the 2 guys he will choose from for OC. Lmao

I mean I could see Shephard getting fired, they have 3 (gasp) losses and and everything Saban built has come crashing down, so there will need to be a scapegoat. And maybe a homecoming of sorts would work out. But man, what a step down and you’re probably unemployed again after one season.

Brohm? lol. All I can think is that the natives are restless down there and they are realizing what we should have here, that the Brohmco model is probably not optimal. Brian needs to grow up and be independent. Greg…well…Greg should be working somewhere like all of us do. He’s a real problem lol

I'm thinking the same thing. If CRW is your guy, support him and help save his recruiting class. Prospective transfers are watching this debacle.......

Is it even plausible for anyone outside Walters's family to fully support him right now?

They likely promote Grimes and let her make more DEI hires.
Oh for gods sake stop it. It could just be that he’s in over his head and a bad head coach, you know? You are pretty regularly saying this now, do you want to go ahead and say a little more along this line?

If he stays, there can be no other reason

Agree.

All this DEI bs strikes me as a clumsy attempt at politicizing an ill-advised hire by throwing some baseless culture wars nonsense into it.

Bobinski made the wrong choice, but is there any evidence race had anything to do with it? Seems more likely that Bobinski's top choices either turned him down or didn't take the call, and he put too much stock in Walters's defensive success at Illinois.
