I know he got injured, but let’s discuss the redshirt decision for TKR. I get that four years from now we will get more production from TKR than we would have this season. The same could be said of Caleb Furst. That said, considering how close our losses were, would a healthy TKR have given us enough production at the 4 to put us over the edge in some of those games and been enough to get us a Big Ten title and/or Tourney title and/or better chance in the NCAA’s? I understand that decision more if we hadn’t been expected to do much with or without him, but it seems like when we’ve got a chance at a great season, the strategy should be all hands on deck. When Furst struggled in the last half of the season, we really struggled when Gillis wasn’t on the floor and it would have been nice to see TKR as another option off the bench.
