I little surprising. I really had a feeling that he would be one of our commits because of Brantley's development work with bigs.

Surprised but still not overly concerned. With the abundance of social media and what not, recruiting can't be anywhere near what it used to be.

If there is one glaring thing Painter needs to work on, it is recruiting. Now, not one of us on here has any insight as to what goes on when Painter talks to these kids, but he might need to change his approach some.

Painter is already an above average coach heading up, if he can get a good recruiter on staff then things will only get better and better.

How about Kendrick?

How about Kendrick?
With Morgan Burke being gone, I have a feeling Frank will be more involved. Don't downplay his involvement in the last 3-4 years as Painter telling Butke to rebuild the bridge with Kendrick. The guy has away across the state and having him on our side, whether officially or unofficially, only helps Painter's efforts.

Don't know how big an involvement FK wants, but any contribution should be welcomed and would help IMO. He deserves another chance (from the Luther Clay mess and related violations) if he wants one. Also, he's being inducted in the 2016 class for the Purdue Intercollegiate Athletic Hall of Fame......good timing?

Only person that's been real on this board is the real deal everything I say is true and thanks to you guys you back it up with the shit you guys say but you don't realize it the arguments you guys have are funny to the basketball fan that knows basketball.

Would you like to buy a punctuation mark to go along with your arrogance, self-flattery, or cockiness?

I'm really starting to think you guys just get on here to talk because none of you know shit about basketball to think he's an above-average coach give me a break. He's average at best borderline average to below-average
And we are all aware that you are a troll

I know you're calling a coach that hasn't been passed the sweet 16 and has been bounced out of the first round the last 2 years above-average coach and this coach supposably had 4 NBA talented kids on the team so where in the world would you think he's above average
Welcome back Snu.

I know he is taller than JJJ. But both kinda play the same position. Stretch 4. Hopefully(optimistically) this has some behind the scene reasoning of JJJ coming to Purdue.

You keep on proving how little you know about basketball with each and every post. Boilerwizard is that you? CMP is hands down an above average coach and the fact that you can't see it says more about you than anything else.

Now that your agenda and who you are is cleared up, your posts will be nothing but scoffed at from here out.

He's got NBA Talent on this team by what you guys say and last year and has been bounced out of the tournament in the first round twice in a row and has not won a tournament game in 4 years how in the hell does that say he's above average. You guys keep stating facts that support my argument not yours I don't get it

What is your proof that he's an above-average coach and then put that on the national board and see what everybody else says I bet you more people agree with me than you.

We are thrilled that Matt will continue to lead the Purdue basketball team and carry the program into the next era of Purdue Athletics,” Burke said. “He has been at the helm of a very successful run both on the court and in the classroom, and we are excited that he has reaffirmed his commitment to his alma mater. His passion and energy for Purdue University is evident, and we are looking forward to the future of Purdue basketball under his watch.”

In 11 seasons at the Purdue helm, Painter has compiled a 238-134 (.640) record with eight NCAA Tournament appearances, a Big Ten regular-season title and a Big Ten Tournament title. The third all-time winningest coach in Purdue history is one of just six coaches in league history to be named Big Ten Coach of the Year three times, joining Gene Keady, Bobby Knight, Bo Ryan, Tom Izzo and Thad Matta.

Over the last 10 seasons, Purdue’s 229 total wins rank fourth in the Big Ten, while the eight tournament berths are the third most in the Big Ten during that time frame, averaging almost 23 wins a season.

Painter enters the 2016-2017 season third on the school’s all-time wins list (238), behind legendary mentors Keady and Ward “Piggy” Lambert. At age 45, Painter already ranks 18th on the all-time Big Ten wins list.

Last year’s squad posted a 26-9 record, finishing the year with the sixth-most victories in school history. The Boilermakers were among 11 schools nationally to be ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 poll all season.

Let me fix this for you....

He has had NBA talent on the team, by what you guys state, yet he has been beaten in the first round of the tournament the last two seasons. He also has not won a tournament game in four years. How in the hell does that say he's is an above average coach? You guys keep stating facts that support my argument, not yours. I just don't get it.

There you go. Free of charge. Hopefully that helps your responses to be some what coherent in the future. Your responses tend to sound like a Donald Trump sound byte.

Also, look up Jay Wright's record in the NCAA tournament prior to this last season since 2010...want to argue that Jay Wright isn't an 'above average coach?' He never made it out of the first weekend, yet I am sure you would argue he is an above average coach?

This should be stickied for the overly emotional to read.
