Tennessee v. Purdue Game Thread (Battle 4 Atlantis - Bahamas)

Deserved to lose. Got outworked and our "leaders" made too many mistakes. Barnes is a good coach got ball where they needed it. Why the hell we didn't help and make him pass I have no idea.

Tough loss. Purdue wasn't ready for this kind of game. Thought with the extra games and with the 4 seniors we would have a big advantage early in the season. Disappointed. Carsen and others will hopefully learn from this and play smarter next time.

In fairness, if the Boilers had his anywhere close to their normal 3pt %, then things wouldn't have even be close..

This is what you get from a Matt Painter coach team in a tournament. You can bad mouth me all you want just cuz the truth hurts

Yeah, it's typical. Hate to admit it, but we aren't athletic enough to play with teams like this. You can only give CMP the benefit of the doubt so many times. He recruits and coaches this team. We are no closer to winning anything than we were last yr. If we are filled with leaders this year. I would like to know who they are. B1G...just isn't good!

Carsen Edwards & Vince Edwards combine for 8-30 shooting while the rest of the team goes 14-29. Coupled with the fact that Purdue 18 TO's and most of those committed by those same two players (7 for Edwards and Edwards and 8 more between Mathias and Haas).

Absolutely no reason with the amount of talent on the offensive end that any one player should be jacking up 17 and 13 shots unless they are playing extremely well...I don't hang losses on players much but it was apparent that Boogie and Vince shot the team out of a victory today. No reason that Haas and Haarms should combine for 8 total shots.

Agree, teams like this are just more athletic but no excuse for not matching their energy and aggressiveness. Tennessee went after loose balls harder, wanted it more. Didn't feel like the seniors stepped up.

....and here goes ESPN with the BIG sucks routine. Wish I could argue but results speak for themselves.

Everyone in the arena knew where they were going with the final possession and we let them back VE down with no help. Just crazy.

The inability to play strong in the face of aggressiveness may have just set the seen for a less attractive seed in March.
Not enough hustle. Not enough guts. Vince, Issac, and Haarms got physically worked by Tennessee’s interior players. Embarrassing.

I would've rathered played a Nova. We always seem to get rattled or soft when we play tough minded teams. I felt we were built like a Nova a few yrs ago with leaders. To many guys not wanting to take a good shot or dribble drive.

Boilers will be fine.
It's early. .Won't be the same team come March.
But that post of one of the greatest Purdue teams ever.Should get slowed down a bit.
Top four in the conference.
Nothing wrong with that.

We miss Biggie.
CASE CLOSED

Not the type of D you see in the international game or against the cupcakes and Purdue wasn't ready for it. Old time Big Ten grinder.

I think Purdue should give their practice unis that say "Play Hard" on the rear to the Volunteers. Hard to watch Purdue get out toughed.
