This game was ridiculous, like so many of Purdue's wins over Michigan State since '97 have been.
You'll remember Brandon Kirsch got knocked out of the game in the final minutes, just before fourth down. Kyle Orton had been on the sideline all day - and it wasn't particularly warm on this day. He came for that one snap, deviated from the first-down throw that was to have been his first option and chucked it down the left sideline for John Standeford, who was covered but not so well covered that a perfect pass couldn't be completed. Orton delivered the perfect pass.
Then, a defense that had struggled at times to protect leads stopped Michigan State on its ensuing possession and Purdue absolutely stole one.
