What's the real story with his hip problem? Jeff Washburn keeps stating in his articles that he had bilateral hip replacement surgery. I can't believe that is true. I know he had corrective surgery but hip replacement surgery at his age? Can't believe he'd be playing if that was the case.

Gel,

From a Michigan-related site/article:

Michigan senior guard Spike Albrecht has undergone his second hip surgery of the 2015 offseason, a Michigan athletic department spokesman confirmed Wednesday night.

This latest procedure comes a little over one month after Albrecht underwent a surgery to shave down a portion of his right hip joint, repair a torn labrum and address a fracture in the right hip.

Details of Albrecht's latest surgery were not available.

Following his first surgery, Albrecht said he was still in the decision-making process of whether he'd opt for a second, similar surgery on his left hip. That procedure planned to also shave down a portion of the bone, but it was unknown whether a fracture or torn labrum existed there as well.

"It's one of those things where (a surgeon) can't really tell until he goes in there with the camera," Albrecht said.

Thanks. That certainly is not hip replacement surgery. Washburn should get his facts straight.
