I was looking at an NBA mock draft. There was a name missing!

That guy we all hated who decided to take the money from Kansas rather than enter the draft early is not listed in either the first or second round of this year’s draft.

Looking back at what could have happened if he had chosen Purdue.

His name? Dickinson!

I hope he saved his money!

He was never expected to be an nba caliber player. He got paid by Kansas and made more money there than he ever would have at Purdue or the nba. Honestly from a money perspective he probably played his cards right.

Yep, you’re correct. Highest rated of the 3. But was ranked mid 50s. Typically, those guys aren’t thought of as immediate nba talent.

He chose Michigan over Purdue! The second chose Creighton over Purdue. Edey chose Purdue.

Most 2nd round picks make $40k playing in the g league he 100% made the right decision. He was highly rated for college basketball he doesn’t have the skills for the nba. Very different game. Also mock drafts are exactly that, I doubt going back for a year really made much of a difference.

Very true, Tex! Him anchoring himself to Dickinson (why????) and NIL making the playing field “even” could be his downfall. Will be interested to see how he does this year, but right now, his teams have been middle of the pack ever since everyone else can pay players like he has…his whole career 😂

As someone pointed out, it was probably a smart move on his part to take the money from Kansas.

Last year was kind of a black eye against self’s coaching ability. He added two highly hyped players via the portal and gave out a bunch of money. And as a team they flopped. Definitely a very bad investment for the money

I can’t find any mocks that said he was a second rounder. But we both know Zach was a different type of player, mentally and physically and just about in all areas than Dickinson.

And good on Hunter for making money by staying in college. That’s what NIL is all about.

Selfs last TWO seasons have been terrible because of anchoring to Hunter AND everyone able to get top guys. So far, in a small sample size, he’s shown he’s not as good as maybe we all thought with guys that aren’t the best (which he usually had by paying them prior to NIL being legal).
