TKR 975

I think the settling was mostly due to running up against a physical player who made it harder to back down.
I agree and that’s a really interesting point. Is Trey not running into that as much because they’re running different stuff to get him the ball in different situations? Seems like priority to Zach’s senior year, most of the stuff for bigs (aside from Haarms) was post up action. I wonder how Trevion would have done in some of these actions they’re running for Trey.

I loved Trevion and what he brought to our team. If he had gotten his weight down and been better conditioned in his first 2 years, he would have been unstoppable.

Believe he is playing in Israel now after having success in Germany. Still a smooth passer and great rebounder.

You mentioned Nick Martinelli......be a nice piece for Purdue next year, if he goes the portal route.

TKR has wildly over performed this year. Might be 2nd or 3rd team AA?? That is really something considering he wasn't on any all B10 teams last year. MEGA jump.
Overly performed??? Whaaaat?

This was shown by him during the scrimmage last year without Zach. He dominated EVERYONE and showed his moves off.

He's the most offensively effective below the rim player I can remember. I'm struggling to even come up with a historical comparison. Probably some Wisconsin player...
one guy that comes to mind for me is Luke Harrangoody ( sp?) he was an undersized Center that did well in college

Correct, no one 'knew', but are you honestly shocked? Painter has been saying he's an all-conference player and doesn't tend to blow smoke.

I said all conference 2nd team in the pre season a couple dudes said maybe 1 st team.

BUT Big jump to that and the "level" of one of the AA teams. NOBODY said that.

Over performed.........NO one knew he would be the "level" of a 2nd or 3rd team AA in the preseason.

If you want to say you did......show us the post.
I disagree with you on his game was the same as last year. Last year, he was uncoordinated…his body wasn’t doing what his mind was telling it to do. He basically wasn’t used to the speed of the game. In the scrimmage and in Europe, he did things he didn’t do at all last year. He brought the ball up full court after rebounds or after an inbound pass (did not do that last year). He was more composed and able to finish better around the rim than he did the previous year. He also was able to dribble from the top of the key pivot around the block, make a few fakes and then score. The game looks like it’s slowing down a bit for him and IMO if he only plays 10-15 min behind Zach and doesn’t play the 4 next to him, we are wasting his talent and I’d be afraid he’d leave elsewhere out of frustration for playing time.

Here’s an article on Painter talking about Edey and TKR:

I’ve said it before, but he was bringing the ball up full court at the scrimmage and he also drove to the hole multiple times, had a lot better footwork and was able to finish very well at the rim compared to the previous year. His outside shot takes a bit, so I would only expect him to shoot those if he is reaaaalllly wide open.

Berg redshirted last year. I don’t recall TKR ever being in a PnR situation, but I do recall he could guard better than edey on the perimeter. If you saw the scrimmage early in the summer, TKR played the 5 and was a beast—completely different looking than when he played with edey (Zach wasn’t there as he was with the Canada team).

How you gonna say TKR ok and had to step up? He scored in different ways. Dude can score on anyone in the country

He puts up these numbers he’s first team.

I’ve been tellin yall he is THAT DUDE

TKR IS THAT GUY…8th best player in the nation according to KenPom. Here’s how his stats rank vs the other bigs in B1G play so far and I’d wager that he has gone against the toughest non conf so far:

I’ve been screaming about TKR since the scrimmage last year 😂

Hell, you even called him an AA:

This is the TKR I said would be 2nd team All B10. Footwork back. Midrange back. Patient and worked to get his.

Now be consistent and not just 2nd team All B10....but folks that was flat out an All American we saw tonight

Big time
😊

If he’s an AA it’s HM, maybe he sneaks on someone’s third team, imo. That’s not really a huge difference from 1st team all big ten and yes, @DwaynePurvis00 has been saying forever that he could be at that level.
