Shephard leaving?

What he got out of the receivers his first year was absolutely outstanding. This is also true of the eventual weapons that Zico and Terry Wright became.
I don't disagree. But I also attribute a lot of that to Brohm's system vs. Shoopfense. On the other hand, drops have been uncommon, which is big. I will definitely give him credit for that. Even back in the Tiller years I remember 8 or 10 drops in a single game.

Yeah I thought of mentioning that but didn’t several times this year. Purdue hasn’t had many of those drops where you’re like “come on! A high school receiver could catch that” lately

I think one of the reasons is probably that drops are less common today than 20 years ago overall. When you don't have to worry about getting ear holed by Ernest Shazor...

Oh man.. that hit on dorien Bryant still replays in my head over and over

Hes been at Purdue for 5 years. If he was gonna get one, he'd have gotten one. Now he gets a big pay raise and to be associate head coach and passing game coordinator under another great offensive mind. I don't understand how this is difficult. He left Purdue for a job that is better than Purdue looking at recent history and took a pay raise and a bigger title.
Not better pay he needs to be making double in Seattle compared to West Lafayette with their cost of living. recent history? They’ve had 4 coaches in 4 years and have SIX commits for 2022! A long way from where they were under Peterson. Meanwhile purdue will have back to back years of 1-2 round picks at WR his position and he’s loaded there. His bigger title? Associate head coach means nothing. It’s a made up title like co-OC who doesn’t call plays. Same as passing coordinator. It’s a lateral move with a cost of living increase for Seattle.

Let’s just smile. I don’t think the world knows what’s brewing in west Lafayette but they’ll find out on 9/3

UND might have a lot of traction. Long delay in news is likely a negotiation ongoing process.
He did interview with ND, from what I have heard ND went a different direction. Unfortunately he will be at WSU. That is why there was the delayed announcement. I think he possibly sees a better path at moving up the food chain in WSU.

UW not WSU. It’s the one with the more recent national championship than notre dame

Oregon with NIL support (Phil Knight - Nike) is well known to support the Ducks at all costs. Look for a great recruiting class in the near future.
Time will tell. They still need a proven coach. I personally would have more confidence in what USC, UCLA and Utah has at the helm.
