Auburn got a terrible draw as overall 1Top half of that South Region is really interesting - ACC I guess dragged on Louisville (#8?). A & M/Michigan is a possible 2nd round game, and now Michigan State as the #2 in the bottom half, Iowa State #3.....some potential slugfests if seeds hold.
I'm not really surprised with Texas. They're flawed but have 7 Quad 1 wins---more than UNC, Indiana, and Xavier combined.North Carolina and Texas get the nod over Indiana - didn't expect that.

UNC went 1-11 v. Quad 1, but did play a top-10 non-conference schedule.
What I don't get is Xavier: 1-9 v. Quad 1, and a non-conference SOS in the 200s.
Well clearly they can score. And clearly we have been playing some of the worst defense in the country.High Point - Net #82
They played 1 Quad 2 game all year and zero quad 1 games. Really hard to evaluate a team that plays a schedule like that.
$8M wasted. @bonefish1 i believe spending $8M is not worth it to reject a bid to the NIT/Crown.Good points, rgarlitz. Yeah - wasn't shocked. Bottom line is for all the bubble teams, you're at the mercy of some metrics over others and separating electrons.......so, you have to remove all doubt if you can or rely upon a roll of the dice.

Well, at least you did it. I just like to criticize how other people do it.My results....disregarding my late flip of Michigan and Purdue - to give myself the original benefit of the doubt.
66/68 - Missed IU and West Virginia (for Texas and UNC). Indiana was my last in and UNC first out FWIW
44 at correct seed
19 one away
1 (oklahoma) 2 away
2 (Memphis and Louisville) 3 away
Not my best work
Same same 😂Well, at least you did it. I just like to criticize how other people do it.
No argument we need to play better defense and hit open shots to beat any decent team.Well clearly they can score. And clearly we have been playing some of the worst defense in the country.
So here's hoping Paint and crew spend a whole lot of time working on defense this week.

Is that what we need to look for in the Portal ... I say yesand bizzare do's

just to nuance this a bit more correctly and I never correct you because you are rarely incorrect...but it isn't a draw (and I know others use that wording). They are pairing teams as they desireProvidence on TH it is......#4 in the Midwest to face #13 High Point. Clemson #5/#12 McNeese winner IF Purdue advances to Sat. All in all, could have been worse as a draw but will be a challenge either way.
FWIW and my feelings are not hurt, but I wonder if there are 50 teams better than IU at this time?Honestly, I would have taken Indiana over Xavier.
Of course there are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ,,, but ancient blue bloods still suckFWIW and my feelings are not hurt, but I wonder if there are 50 teams better than IU at this time?

Does the Alabama win give us the 4 seed? Moldy bread logic. Michigan should have been the 4 seed, not us.agree
Trying to look at it objectively, I don't think Xavier is better than Indiana. But, I hear you. I won't be losing any sleep over the Hoosiers being left out.FWIW and my feelings are not hurt, but I wonder if there are 50 teams better than IU at this time?
I’m not following what you’re saying.$8M wasted. @bonefish1 i believe spending $8M is not worth it to reject a bid to the NIT/Crown.
You always ask how to measure what something or someone is worth. IU spent $6-$8M and I’m saying that it definitely was not worth it to spend that much just to turn down the NIT and miss the tournament for the 7th time in 9 years 😂 😂I’m not following what you’re saying.
There are 37 at large teams better than them!FWIW and my feelings are not hurt, but I wonder if there are 50 teams better than IU at this time?
with their body of work, but I doubt 37 at the end of the year and as I say that I know the body of work is the criteria for selection. There are 37 at large teams better than them!
splendid idea, Sir my conclusion tooMy2 cents - unless we are a bubble team that needs to win the BTT, we should play walk-ons and scrubs. Committee showed that Saturday and Sunday didn’t matter.
Yeah the only things that mattered today were whether George Mason or UAB were going to win.My2 cents - unless we are a bubble team that needs to win the BTT, we should play walk-ons and scrubs. Committee showed that Saturday and Sunday didn’t matter.
I’m really glad Painter let Braden play 40 minutes and put Fletcher back in with his injured elbow...Yeah the only things that mattered today were whether George Mason or UAB were going to win.

Anyways, this is why expanding and having our tournament run so late is stupid.
The thing that people don’t realize about Xavier is that they played a stretch without their best player, Zach Fremantle. He scored in double figures in every game he played.Trying to look at it objectively, I don't think Xavier is better than Indiana. But, I hear you. I won't be losing any sleep over the Hoosiers being left out.
