Same story, different season

Can't win one when it counts.
The worst coaching job of the year. Haas was unstoppable inside and CMP takes him out with 4 min. to go. Biggie was awful. Should have been on the bench in place of Haas.

We win if we hit over 50% of our free throws and we are one of the best ft shooting teams in conference history.

Yea, this is on Painter........................

Yep look at what tc said, haas was a killer (who couldn't make FTs)...hard decision to make

Yeah this is all on the players. Anyone saying the worst coaching job all year has no clue what they are talking about.

We lose in regulation if PJ doesn't throw in a 1/2 court shot. Game was called completely different after the tech. They were getting away with mugging us inside and CMP stood their and watched.

Or we just hit one more free throw than we miss and win the game.

The last two games in the NCAA tournament were lost because of coaching. I am sure painter looks back and agrees. I attended both games and you don't blow leads like that in such a small amount of time unless you are not being coached properly.

Very typical. Purdue will be the 5 seed everyone predicts to lose now, so maybe they'll actually win a tournament game for the first time in awhile.

Doesn't matter. May move from a four seed to a five, but I'd guess they stay at the 3rd four. This was a very good loss to wake the entire team up.

I don't want to pick a fight, but State College and Ann Arbor were the wake-up calls.

Today was, to paraphrase Neil Young, a warning sign on the road ahead.

That's right! You have high expectations...........FOR OTHERS!!
You just have low expectations we should have blown this team out. We were outcoached today. Painter got scared and decided to go small and that lost us the game.

I'll tell you what he got scared of. Haas not being able to guard anyone off the dribble and missing free throws.

Pretend to know me,coward :D:D:D:D Wallow in your mediocrity a bit longer. BTFU while your at it too!:D:D:D:D

Unfortunately you're no different than most here. Internet all-stars who demand perfection from the teams they follow because surely they lead lives of such excellence themselves that a top 20 college basketball team losing a game to another NCAA tournament team on a neutral court turns them into a weak, emotional, incoherent, mess.

He was hitting shots. And if anything it looked like carsen edwards couldn't guard anyone. Had no floor presence on D. He should have been looking for those obvious picks instead of letting his man go around with ease. I don't see a good reason for our lineup late in the game.

Did you watch the game? CE was a monster on D. He played a very good game.

Lol he got clowned 2 plays in a row at the end luckily only 1 ended up with an easy 2 points. He has some great plays but he was Barlowing it at the end of that game.

If you thought Haas was doing well on DJ Wilson then I don't know what to tell you.

Haas was scoring. You can't win if you aren't scoring the points. Michigan was playing the perimeter at the end and wasn't going North and South and you somehow think Haas couldn't have changed the last minute of that game in our favor. Give me a ****ing break.

I know Haas gave away as many points as he scored today. Personally, I think offense/defense substitution was the way to go down the stretch.

We can all Bitch and state excuses all we want here.......Bottom line is FT'S killed us (especially Thompson....game would have been over)........PERIOD........we didn't play a good game, but still should have won. Thompson choked

No fight picked my friend. You're opinion and my opinion. As a player and a coach I never wanted to lose, but there are "good" losses and in my opinion and experience, this might be a very good loss and wake up call. It's certainly going to allow Painter the opportunity to clear some air in a locker room and at the next practice.

I said it before. I'd rather get a loss like this out of the way because I didn't see any way we would run the table in the BTT and NCAA tourney to finish the season. We've also bounced back from every loss with at least a couple wins I believe.

You are an IDIOT. I have seen soo many games where Haas did dumb chit down the stretch. PJ missed a one and one up 2 with 18 sec left. You people are the biggest ****ing morons I ever seen. Don't ****ing worry this is my last post on here you stupid f_cking idiotic MORONS. Your not Purdue basketball fans you are freaking IDIOTS

No way that Painter did not play a part in the loss...the point regarding Haas is extremely valid, and Spike was far more effective in limited minutes that Thompson was in extended ones...still makes no sense at all either why Cline is starting and Carsen Edwards is not...made no sense when the move was made, has not made sense since and will never make sense.

But made total sense to let Biggie and Vince not be able to guard anyone off the dribble?

Name somebody...anybody for that matter...that did not give away as many points as they scored at the other end?

Purdue failed to exploit any advantage that it had to the extent necessary, and its weakness was exploited yet again repeatedly...that is why they lost the game.

You never take out the hot hand. I cannot believe Painter did that. The other day was reading about his strategy to never play Haas and Biggie at same time. I'm like what? That's crazy. I understand you can't do that all the time. But there are definitely times to do it and today without a doubt was one of them towards end. At least don't take Haas out. Killed the whole rhythm of the game Purdue had them on the ropes. Then let them out of the corner. Just absurd decision.

During tournament time you can't do what you usually do to win. Yah got to have something more. Purdue constantly plays without a 5th gear. It's all or nothing all of the time. Why make it to overtime and then choke is what I don't get. Why not just lose in regulation if only 1 point in OT. Today should be a benchmark lesson. Purdue came out and their best effort got them owned twice to Michigan.

And if they hit 1 or 2 free throws more, they still win in spite of all that.
