Robby Carmody....

Interesting thread on Carmody on Butler's board (really solid BB talk over there) about Carmody being a "dirty" player based on several posters videos. I think videos like that are often done in poor context so I don't give them much merit but I bet that board is 85% thumbs down on him and have been for quite some time. Anyone concerned by what you're seeing? I really don't feel strongly one way or the other but am surprised no one's thrown up a flag.

Hard to tell out of context but am sure if he comes to Purdue the coaches would squelch anything out of line so no concerns at all....

Said it before and I'll say it again.. Carmody is Rob Hummel 2.0. He's a must get IMO

Well Hummel was basically a 6-8 guard playing forward. Those skills there made him unique up front on both sides of the ball.

At 6-4 I would hope, a 2 guard, Carmondy, has similar skills (and even better) as Hummel.....as a 2 that is expected. Unexpected in Hummel up front to have those skills....that was his immense value.

Yep, my sentiments to the "t". I want him to be a Boiler even more now. Some of our best players over the years have had a swagger to them. That drive and competitiveness needs some discipline but that's manageable in most instances. He has always been a gentleman and polite on twitter with me.

Agree. Grayson Allen's issues stem from the fact that Coach K allowed it to continue. When he did 'punish' him with his indefinite suspension...it was only 1 game. I pretty much lost all amounts of respect for Coach K after this past season.

Well kudos to Grayson for showing such tenacity to complete an indefinitely suspension in a single game. That shows heart and grit.

This kid just looks the part. He looks like a Boilermaker right now. He does remind me of Hummel in that he seems to be in the right place at the right time, and knows what to do.

Which I wonder how the new rules in the college game will impact that.

I watched his highlight reel on on of the recruiting sites and he had some impressive off ball steals, which would be a great skill to translate to the next level. Highlight reels can be deceiving but there seems a real possibility that this kid may be underrated. Hard nosed defender, dunks easily, confidant from 3 point range, and finishes at the rim in a variety of ways while being fouled heavily.

Never mind the size, watch how he plays, very similar moves and game of Robs

I saw one clip where he dove to save a ball from going out of bounds...in an AAU game. Heart definitely doesn't seem like an issue with this kid.

On the negative side, the same video had a clip where he goes down hard, jumps up, and the coach grabs him around the waist before he even turns toward the other guy. That kind of leads me to believe that some of the concerns with his temper might not be rumors (I haven't seen the "unsportsmanlike" videos).
