I'm hoping we can get to the 1/24 game in East Lansing. As things look right now, our January schedule looks much easier than February.

The whole schedule looks light this year . I'm guessing osu but I hope I'm wrong

We aren't losing again! Ok I'm worried about our first BT Road game at Ohio State - there is always a game like that we struggle with - see Illinois and Michigan last year. I think we pull that one out but the next game at home vs Wisky scares me

When's our next football game?

Why the negative slant? Let's take it a game at a time and see if we can keep winning! I think our ceiling for this team could be pretty high if we have players stepping up and playing to their potential! I agree the second half of the BIG looks a little more challenging; but hopefully we will be playing even better by then and will be ready for the tougher part of the schedule! Personally, I am hoping we can put ourselves in a position to get a number 3 seed for the Tournament!

Are you talking to me? I asked about our next loss then put the entire rest of our schedule out there. I really do hope we win out but.......

My guess at OSU, and if not there at Maryland.

I wasn't trying to be critical or anything... Just would rather not think along the lines of when we might lose next. It was an interesting post however. I do think the game at Ohio State could provide us with our first real test of the BIG season.

The BIG is always tough on the road. I would like to say our next loss is at Maryland but we will lose an unexpected road game or two. People will melt down and call for Painter's job. All the great coaches on the board will point out where he is making his mistakes. Rinse, repeat...

vs Illinois.

Coming off some good wins, a game we'll expect to win, everyone flying high... whammo.

@ osu - we never have success at the meth house.

While we certainly haven't won there a lot, we've played good games there (and they've typically had as good of or better teams than us...I don't think we've gone in heavy favorites against them and lost for example).

I think we've "struggled" most at Northwestern. I don't really believe in trends though (i.e. us losing in the Crossroads Classic 7 years ago had nothing to do with the current team). I think NW has more so been a match-up issue with style of play (we haven't typically dominated them at home either so it's not necessarily a location thing).

Hey I am glad most Big teams are good and tough to play them at their area, helps team get ready for NCAA .

We are capable of losing any Big Ten game. The bottom teams from last season (Rutgers, Minnesota, Illinois) appear to be vastly improved and the teams at the bottom currently (Iowa, MSU) all have potential to be good on a given night. Aside from Nebraska, it doesn't look like there are too many nights off.

That said, if this team is top ten material and is good enough to make a run at the conference title, and right now I think both are possible, then we have to be thinking at least 14-4 to achieve that. Can't afford many slip ups. We have to get at least 8 wins at home and go 6-3 on the road.

I know MSU is the walking wounded right now, but they'll obviously be a tough match up if they get healthy. Watched them loss to Northeastern last night and I didn't see any playmakers.
That said, I don't feel the least bit sorry for msu.

I'm distraught.

I wouldn't sleep on Minny, they have the potential to cause us problems.

How so? We haven't really had big issues handling full-court pressure this year. Were you referring to something else?

Long, athletic, experienced, and deep. I thought the length and athleticism Louisville threw at us caused big issues getting good ball movement and clean looks. Not saying I think we lose, but this is the type of team that I could see pulling an upset if they get in a groove early.

I think the issue at NU had more to do with their past coach and his offensive style than anything.

If Purdue is the contender all of the fans hope they are, then they shouldn't lose until February. They should finish the Big Ten with 1-3 losses. That will give them a decent seed and give them a shot at a deep tournament run that the fan base desperately wants/needs.

Even if they are really good they could slip up and lose a game to Wisconsin or at Ohio State or something. A really good team wouldn't lose many such games though.

They could lose, but they shouldn't. They are the "better team" (completely subjective of course) in all of their remaining games. In their two losses, they were not the better team going in. The Big Ten always has surprises, but for Purdue to take that next step they need to win every in conference home game and lose no more than three games on the road. It won't be the end of the world, but it would lower expectations. The only game that I expect a loss is in the hall of calls. Then it would be safe to expect another 1-2 on the road. I really look forward to see how this season plays out. Add on that Purdue Football seems to be headed in the right direction, I am the happiest with Purdue athletics that I have been in a long time.
