Purdue completed its first scrimmage inside Ross-Ade Stadium and here is the quick notes from what Jeff Brohm said:

FYI...Purdue did not provide stats so Brohm was estimating a lot of what happened.

- To the surprise of almost nobody, Brohm said Rondale Moore was a standout at wide receiver. Brohm mentioned still having concerns with the wide receiver position after this scrimmage. Lots of depth but no standout star target has emerged this preseason.

- Brohm said DJ Knox (hamstring) was held out for precautinary reasons. Markell Jones was limited due to his finger. Tario Fuller is also battling nagging injuries. You can assume Brohm is worried about his depth here.

- Not much separation at quarterback with Sindelar and Blough. Although Sindelar did have an interception on what Brohm called a “forced” throw that picked off by Jacob Thieneman.

- “Lots of drops” from the wide receivers but Moore made big plays in the pass game and run game.

- Brohm was encouraged by what he saw from first-team defense but pass rush needs more work. Liked what he saw out of cornerbacks and safeties.

More to come shortly but that was what was the immediately noteworthy items from Brohm following the two-hour scrimmage.
