Short and sweet.......Purdue 38 Ohio 24.

Purdue has a balanced attack with 3 rushing/2 passing touchdowns and one field goal.

Fuller and Knox shine in this one...and Blough picks apart the middle of the field with Hopkins and Herdman.

Boiler Up!

Purdue 37-21.

Sindelar and Blough throwing the ball all over the place, tearing up the Cats.

I'll stick with 31-24 Purdue.

Boilers have to out-tough Ohio up front on both sides of the ball. Also, Purdue must limit mistakes --- especially turnovers.

I would think it would be a lot easier for the defense to stop Ohio's run game then it was to stop the Louisville offense, and I think Ohio's defense is not near as fast or good as Louisville, I say Purdue 35 -14

The issue becomes Purdue focusing so much on the run that they get hit with the long play action/screen game...similar to what Whisky has hit Purdue with for the better part of 20 years.

Purdue comes out strong and uses their advantage with the TE's and RB's out of the backfield to create mismatches that favor them and score some early TD's while Ohip bogs down a bit trying to slow down the pace, set the tempo, and run the ball. Purdue gets to the half at 20-10 and sends Sparks in the third quarter for a total change of pace and gets Purdue up 27-10 and pull away from there for a 37-23 victory.

It will be a statement W for Purdue!
Boilers over the Boobcats 27-14

We will be in for a 'Dog' fight tonight. They are a veteran team and fundamentally sound..........we stuff a last minute drive to pull this one out 27-23....

Darn I was close and had the game strategy correct......

Mine wasn't too far off as well!

Most people were off quite a bit, including me. Isn't this proof that our glasses aren't as rose-colored as some think?
ESPN was way off and I think some of that has to do simply with the fact nobody really knew what kind of team Purdue would have under Brohm because Hazel was a pretty horrible coach. Given a full off-season and the expectation level raised, it appears a better handle can be set about the team now going in to week 3. The biggest gain typically during a season is between weeks 1 and 2....if some improvement can continue in to the Missouri game, Purdue has a chance to really start to move the needle in the West with a struggling NU, Illinois, and Minny.

ESPN is clueless and has always been.....stopped watching that network about 4 years ago....talking heads that don't know shit.

I agree. The last ten years or so have cured most of us of our Tiller-era delusions of grandeur.

But, it is refreshing to have a competitive team again. I sense that cautious optimism is beginning to replace the doom and gloom of the Hazell era, probably earlier than most of us thought.

It kindof reminds me of 1994, when Purdue fans were energized by a 4-1-1 start after the 1-10 debacle in 1993.

I hope it's a lot more like 1997!
