PU 37 Mizzu 35

I think it is a shoot out with Purdue winning, but again with a balanced attack 2 rushing TD's and 2 Passing and 3 Field Goals including the one to win it late.

Purdue defense with some key takeaways including a sack and recovered fumble and key interception.

I think Mizzu starts fast and goes up 14-3 but then Purdue controls the game in the 2nd and 3rd quarters with mixing up the run and pass and it keeps Mizzu off balance and flips the score to 34-21.

The 4th quarter is where dehydration and depth hurts the Boilers and where Mizzu uses the energy from the crowd and strikes quickly twice to get back in the game to make it 35-34 Mizzu.

Purdue shows grit and gets a long kick return and Evans kicks a 45 yard+ to win it......

I pass out and realize I just took another 5 years off the end of my life but pass out with a smile!

Purdue takes control early on using the running game established last week with Fuller being led by Worship to control the clock and finding an open TE in the middle for big chunks. This established running game allows Brohm to work in his short and intermediate passing game to bring Missouri's defensive backs closer to the line of scrimmage and opens up the deeper routes for Wright, Mahoungo, and Holmes along the sidelines later on. Defensively, Holt goes with a bend but don't break strategy early on to ensure his players are not gassed by the end of the game...specifically his interior defensive lineman. Purdue finds itself trailing for the first time going in to halftime 20-17. The second half, coaching adjustments and strategy play out in Purdue's favor and Purdue uses their effort level to slowly pull away from Missouri over the course of the 3rd and early 4th quarter to eventually win while giving up a late TD for Missouri to pull within 3...

Boilers win 40-37

Prediction: Missouri 38, Purdue 34. The Purdue offense will be a load for a Missouri defense that encountered some staff changes this week, with the notable firing of defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross. But the Boilermakers haven’t yet proved they can stop anyone. Missouri should get a couple of more key stops and let the passing game take care of the rest.

And I'm sure that Mizzo`s defense would have done a better job of stopping Uof L and the offense for OU for that matter.............Big Game D!!!

I think Jallow being out hurts us a lot. Mizzou 34-21.

I don't know anything about Missouri, other than their defense seems to be in disarray.

But, what the heck, it's been a while since I've sipped the kool-aide.

Purdue 31
Mizzou 27

Love the optimism, but on the road I just can't see it. Tigers 35 Boilermakers 24. We're better than we were but still don't have the horses to beat even a mediocre SEC team.

I have felt Purdue would win this one all along. I think our coaches are much better than theirs and that our players are giving the type of effort to win a game like this one. I'll go with Purdue 38 mizzou 28

If the receivers hang on to the ball, Purdue 42 Missouri 31
This is the biggest key, IMO. Week three should be enough time and game film to allow the new WR's to understand the playbook and be able to contribute in more ways. Up to this point, the offense has likely not been playing the best WR's and going for guys who are steady and understand the playbook. Once Wright, Holmes, and Zico are able to understand the concepts and get on the field more....the offense will see a likely bump in production. I think that occurs this week.

Speed kills. Lack of depth catches up with Purdue in this one, esp in the heat. Couple years away from winning a game like this. 38-27 Missouri. Good news is we stack up better against some of the Big Ten teams on the schedule. Not going to see teams simply run the ball down our throats like in the past.

This is winnable, but not probable. Mizzou has sucked almost as much as we have the last 2 years. A SEC road win would raise some eyebrows. Boiler Up!

Tough, tough call, could go either way really, I've drank alot of Kool-Aid this week(all flavors)on a sugar high for sure, Boilers find a way to keep it close, Missou kicks a late FG to pull it out, Man I hate saying this 31-30.
A more experienced QB plays a little better for them to get it done:(

Nah, it'll be Spencer Evans kicking a late 52 yard FG for the guys in white, 31-30.

I read where two Purdue starters are out, although no names were released. It's obvious Jallow is one. Is Jones the other? or an o-lineman?

Another poster had similar sentiment. Their team is equally struggling on the defensive side and Purdue aims to control tempo and mismatches. I see this as our chance to work the running game, dink and dunk for mismatches with a lot of TE work in curls, flats, and crosses as our TE's are likely better than their LB's. The game will be close thru 3 Qtrs and will open in the 4th with a few key turnovers by Mizzou as we apply pressure to QB and have some success.
The key will be running game and turnovers and Purdue has improved in both areas already. Keep it rolling Boilers!

The Purdue offense will be a load for a Missouri defense that encountered some staff changes this week, with the notable firing of defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross.

Cross was a $600K/year paperweight. Last year was the first of a 3-year contract. He had defensive playcalling taken away then and never got it back. Coach Odom said he fired him for "philosophical differences". It sounds like even with his reduced role, Cross was not on the same page with Odom.

About the only real impact is that all of the coaches had to pick up Cross' other duties. Odom is now coaching inside backers. I don't know what Cross' gameplanning tasks are. I'm sure they got divided.

I honestly have no idea what to expect. Both teams have had 2-3 bad years in a row. Odom got an earlier start working with his team, but it hasn't showed so far this year. Our QB Lock is a wildcard. He plays well when things go well. When things go badly he can tighten up enough to turn coal to diamonds between his butt cheeks. .

My only prediction: one or two breaks will establish momentum and the team that gets it will win.

We nearly beat Louisville on a neutral site. We can beat Missouri. 39-30, Purdue.

Those are interesting score numbers...
5 TDs, Safety and Returned Extra Point to 4 TDs, missed Extra Point and FG, perhaps?
As long as you're on the right side of it, I like it.

I expect Purdue to control the line on both offense and defense. I expect a heavy dose of the run and keeping the Missouri offense on the sidelines. I predict Purdue wins easy by two scores. It is an away game, lots of heat, and Jallow could be out. Those are some interesting factors. If Purdue doesn't turn the all over they should win going away.

Mizzou defense gave up 43 to Missouri State and 31 to S Carolina. They'd give up 50+ to UofL.

If our receivers are catching the ball and we can establish a bit of a run game I like our chances.

Purdue 37 - Missouri 20

Seems like we've had like 5-6 bad years in a row. The Doors " I've been down so &%3-!&%$ long that it looks like up to me." Maybe it just seems like that.

I'm predicting a close loss. Why? My prediction rate of success is about 10%.
